Donald:
I wish you all the best.
Evilforce:
You mentioned how the one telling you not to get a college already HAS a degree! Of course, he will never be faced with the problem he is inflicting on everybody else. Too bad all the middle aged bros/sis. who never got their degree can't go to him to get him to pay their bills! After all, aren't they poor because he promoted this bullshit? Doesn't he bear some responsibility?
But even a moron could see that a person with no education makes less money. Less money means less money for the WT.
The hypocrisy of these eff..ng bastards just sends me!! Either the goddamn
hypocrites already have a degree or are set up in a great business. Poverty will never touch them. But it's alright for you though!
They have no accountability.

Why is the Watchtower Society modelled on the Old Testament?
by truthseeker init is a fact, that the watchtower have relegated jesus christ to "just another servant of jehovah.
got a copy of "the greatest man who ever lived" book?
the only book they publish dedicated to jesus, doesn't even have his name on it.

Yes it is as though the New Testament or as they call it the Christian Greek Scriptures never happened.
There is definitely a heavy bias towards the Old Testament.
Maybe the fact that Jesus had a better attitude towards women than the deplorable example shown in the OT is also a factor. Hmmm.

JW False Teachings About Roman Catholics
by rebel8 inapologies if this has been done before.... .
when i left the troof, i happened to learn many of the things i had been taught about rcs were lies.
i thought it would be interesting to see how many jw false teachings about rcs we can list.

Yes, I remember hearing all these from the JWs. Funny, but when I was an RC I never heard these myths except the one about the RCs being the only true religion. I have to admit that a nun in my first or second grade class said Catholics were the only true religion. She talked about "pagan babies" and I as a child knew it was unfair that all those pagans would not be saved. It bothered me.
With regard to those rituals - I always loved the smell of that incense!

help me understand the political dynamics of the kh heirarchy
by Check_Your_Premises inthe more i learn about the dubs the more i understand so many things that take place.
one thing that has been of interest to me is all the politics that go into choosing people for the various tasks.
i figure human nature is human nature.

What you don't know is that Brother Schmuckatelli tells his eldress wife everything. Then she in turn gets on the phone and tells Sister Bag-O-Donuts (who is a pioneer and entitled to know everything). Sister Bag-O-Donuts tells the other self-righteous pioneers...etc. Well, you get the story. So what was "confidential" is now known to at least twenty people. That number will soon grow depending on how many gatherings these twenty people attend...and so on..and so on...

Suicide among Jehovah's Witnesses
by cruzanheart inthis topic has been covered many times, in many different ways, but let's open this for discussion: if the witnesses allowed an elder per congregation to be trained as a "pastoral counselor" as other religions do, would that make it more bearable to be a witness and play by their rules?
would it lessen the number of depressed, suicidal people who feel they have no reason to live?.

The experience you had in another church is something that JWs will sadly never experience. Why, well we all know a JW can't set foot in another religious denomination's house of worship. So they will never know just how un-christian they are in contrast!
Too bad for them.

Would you change your past if you could?
by John Doe ini used to live with many regrets, thinking that i'd screwed up.
recently, i've been thinking that regretting past actions is not constructive.
sure, we should base our current actions by assessing the results of our former actions, but regretting decisions we've made is, in effect, yearning to change the person we are now or rejecting ourselves.

Yes I would. Going back to my early childhood, I would change my very sad and dysfunctional home life. Of course, none of this was my fault but it contributed to the person I became and the decisions I made. In my young adulthood, I would not have been so scatter-brained. I would have gotten a better education. I would have saved more money. Possibly I would have been a more stable and secure individual and married one of the men I dated.
As to whether or not I would have been interested in what the JWs had to say I will never know.

Garage sales
by poppers infrom reading this site i've learned that jws frown up buying used clothing etc.
from second hand stores because of possible 'demonization.

I heard a story similar to this one. Talk about ungrateful! If this ever happened to me it would be over between me and that family. This is why I hesitated to give anything to anybody there. I couldn't stand all this JW insanity, conscience matters, demons, you name it!
On a funnier note, I used to know a JW who called garage sales "garbage sales".

I think they would have to make radical changes to the JW religion which they will not do. Unfortunately, the whole JW thing is designed to induce guilt and other bad emotions in a person. And then to top it all off you have untrained men to give advice to persons who may be severely mentally ill. This can cause more harm than good as we all have seen.

WHO IS WORSE TO A JW, A PAEDOPHILE OR AN APOSTATE?
by diamondblue1974 inhearing about the child molester in glasgow who has been charged but not disfellowshipped did cause me to think a little;.
as an apostate you can be shunned without the need for a jc meeting irrespective of the fact that you might be repentent (not if you have any sense though); however the child molester mentioned hasnt been disfellowshipped!!?
?...if this is true doesnt it clearly highlight the wts f**cked up sense of morals?.

Dear Out:
I realized this years ago when a ped. in a neighborhing cong. was reinstated much too soon after he molested a young girl. I cried because I realized that a little girl was worth nothing in their eyes or it least it seemed that way to me.
