what are you thinking will happen in 2023....positive or otherwise?.

the answer is a definite no!.
because every doctrine that is unique to jehovah's witnesses is not in the bible.
the unique doctrines of jehovah’s witnesses are the ones that only jehovah’s witnesses teach.
LOSTINTGEFOG1999:
Totally agree.. I remember when I was brand new in the Witness religion and they were talking about that Cedar Point thing.
I absolutely did Not believe that any biblical prophecy pertained to their convention or their religion in any way!.. I just wasn’t buying it. I thought they were deluded and flattering themselves.
Naturally, I kept my doubts and my opinion to myself. But, the presumptuousness of what I heard should have made me walk out the door then.. I could have saved myself from unnecessary aggravation!
i am a historian and the period of english history from henry vii to elizabeth i is my specialist area.. i was talking to an ex-jw about the time when tyndale first translated the bible into english with his intention that everyone from the ploughboy upwards would be able to read and understand the scriptures.
it dawned on us both that this was a significant point in english history.. just having access to the bible in hi their own language allowed the common man to understand what god wanted him to understand.. it was and is, so simple.. why then oh why then do jehovah's witnesses think that they need a fds to explain it to them?
when in the 1600s just having a bible written in english was enough for people to understand the word of god?.
LOST IN THE FOG1999:
I am in total agreement with you. By the common man having his own bible, he can see for himself what God wants him to understand.
Nobody else has any right to set themselves up as an intermediary (no less making divine claims)! 🙄
curious.
time goes by so fast.
who remembers 1975, the ray franz incident, the generation change in 1995, the blood fractions, alternative service, participation in ochr, aid afrique, the historical research by james pellechia, jolene chu and johannes stephan wrobel?
DING:
Speaking of ‘superior authorities’, I remember the religion saying ‘We are supposed to be in subjection to the superior authorities’.
I assume they included themselves in this. But, I get the impression they do not think they are in subjection or accountable to anybody.

.
NOWWHAT?
I am inclined to agree that the only ones brought into the religion nowadays are a little ‘off’. They’re lied to and told ‘it’s a brotherhood and they’ll be taken care of’. All Lies!.. But, I digress.
This is yet another terrible tragedy in the JW religion. And even though we don’t have all the details..it seems this person needed professional help. Who knows what he was told? In the news articles it mentioned incendiary devices. This indicates to me that there was animosity towards other people there. Was he enraged because he was a victim of gossip or shunning? Who knows?
from the faq as captured on the website with this question (how many jehovah's witnesses are there worldwide?
) led to this question of mine who do the organization sees as a jehovah's witness?
the organization answers: .
THOMAS MORE:
Right on the money!.. As an observer, I also suspect their real number is half of what they claim.
With regard to halls being sold: this is almost like a game of musical chairs for ‘faithful’ JWs. But in the game of musical chairs it is a chair that’s taken away when the music stops and somebody is left standing. In this hypothetical game, it’s a hall somewhere that is sold and JWs have a mad scramble to go somewhere else. It makes me wonder if it will get to a point that either they are all sold or the nearest one so far away they can’t get to it. In which case the JWs would be left ‘standing’ or abandoned. Not saying this is going to happen but it makes me wonder.
With regard to the elderly passing away rapidly this is true. Unfortunately for the religion, they are the old faithful that they will never see the like of again. Also, they contributed the most to the religion (and useless KH renovations). They were the ones most likely to reach into their pockets to give money to broke pioneers. I often wondered if there was a little guilt there because they pushed poverty/pioneering (even though THEY lived comfortably).. It was these older ones who tried to get ME to quit my job.. Thank God I didn’t listen.
In my opinion, I think things in congregations will never be the same once they’re gone!

published december 22, 2022. the state manager in oslo and viken has decided to withdraw jehovah's witnesses registration as a religious community under the religious society act.. .
we sent a notice to jehovah's witnesses about possible loss of registration on october 25 this year.
THOMAS MORE:
That’s very funny but, sadly, some would have the audacity to believe that.. If I were dumb enough to still be a sitting duck there no doubt a confrontation would happen.. Which is why I’m Glad I’m a million miles away from the religion! “Shrewd is the one who has seen the calamity and proceeded to conceal himself (or herself).”
I also agree with what you said about them wanting JWs back in seats in person. In my opinion, it’s about loss of control and less $ in contribution boxes. I also suspect the Covid shutdown was a ‘hardship’ for some deadbeats in congregations who were used to getting handouts in person. They must’ve had to get very creative during that time period!

BETH SARIM:
That is precisely why I am glad I am not there anymore.
They would have every expectation of going up to responsible-looking people there and asking for money for these other people. This would not be tolerated by me.
I would be the victim of a double whammy! I got criticized and shunned for working - and if I were stupid enough to STILL be there I could count on these detestable hypocrites coming up to me with their envelope!.. I have no use for them. I would end up having to tell some idiot off! This would be the scenario, unfortunately. 👎

Those are a lot of reasons for the ‘drain’. I had no idea about their investments and am not knowledgeable about those special building projects so you must ‘know’ people.
But, as far as people leaving I am well aware of that! Many older JWs are passing away (Boomers and ones older). Many Witnesses have walked away in the last two+ decades, myself included..
No way will younger ones left contribute as much as their parents did!.. I don’t believe anybody will ever see the like of those old ‘faithful’ ever again. They ‘bought’ it all, hook line and sinker. However, they weren’t poor and were collecting pensions!
This must also mean things can’t be looking good at congregational levels. There are many ‘needy’ in the religion (too many in my opinion), because of following the dictate that they ‘shouldn’t get careers’. That’s not counting the ones kicked out of bethel..
Now that there are fewer elderly to go up to privately with an envelope for money to give to broke pioneers who never planned - this won’t be good for anybody in congregations expecting handout$.. Any responsible people left in congregations are going to be pestered.. Sounds unpleasant to me.
for the same reasons jw's reject christmas they use the name jehovah.. dec 25 is the recognized day to celebrate the birth of christ in the world.- we use jehovah because it is the recognized name of the father in the world.. it dishonors jesus because we don't know the actual date of jesus birth- even though we don't know the actual pronouncing of gods name it brings honor to god to use it.
even though the angels rejoiced at the birth of jesus, no where in the bible does it say we should celebrate it.
even though no where in the bible does it say christians are to be witnesses of jehovah, we proudly bear his name!.
BETH SARIM:
It’s something more than nostalgia that I experienced when I ‘Faded’ from the JW religion years ago and finally spent time with my REAL family after years.
You would have had to feel it to know what I mean. I felt several emotions which included gratitude, relief and a feeling that I fought my way out of a dark place. I also felt a sadness that this was stupidly on my part.. I felt I ‘escaped’ from mental abuse and unnecessary deprivation and joined the human race again.
There is no other way to explain it, but, I am glad it’s in the past.. What a sobering life lesson learned!
