GARY NEAL:
Happy Holiday Season to you as well.đ
seems like i just pop in here every now and then to see what everyone is up to.
just like the previous years, i check in during the holidays to let everyone know about the annual christmas card exchange.. blondie used to lead this several years ago and i was involved for about 3 to 4 years before it began to fall off.
for those of you who participated back then, i still have your addresses and have just sent off this year's christmas cards to everyone.
GARY NEAL:
Happy Holiday Season to you as well.đ
a single sister in her 40s and her two single daughters were visiting my mom.
i would say her daughters are in their early 20s.
my mom got sleepy and we put her to bed but the three sisters stayed to finish their drinks..
HAPPY DAD & DOCTOR WHO:
What horror stories.
It was typical of people in the Witness religion to not warn an unsuspecting sister that the brother she intends to marry has something VERY wrong with him. This could be pertaining to a criminal nature, a disease or some other âquirkâ that exposes him as worthless!
These useless people will gossip about every other damn thing under the sun, but yet will keep quiet about something as serious as this!.. I would have wanted to know these things if I were seeing someone! ..Looking back, itâs just as well I never got involved with anybody there!
(because they told us so in a wt!.
w71 6/1 p. 330 par.
10 - "another reason why many feel there is no place for them in the service of god is due to the clergy-laity distinction that is fostered in the churches.
NO ZOMBIE:
Exactly! Uttering this statement makes it so! They just arenât wearing the purple robes. They want to have it both ways it seemsđ.
I would describe the Witnesses as having a âplain clothesâ clergy.
what i would like to see and maybe will get there in about another ten years is being a jw is a rewarding thing that enriches your life.. just like other religions out there you may not know the entire truth and maybe not quite right many of the beliefs but to have to idea of a belief centres and stabilises you.. i would like jws to be able to celebrate birthdays and maybe even other holidays if they choose to and not be judged by those who choose not to.. i would like jws to be allowed to have different interpretations of scripture and everyone is happy to agree to disagree and be able to say to each other yes maybe that interpretation is nearer the truth.
we just donât know.. i would like new members of the gb to issue an apology for previous members getting so many things wrong.. they need to come out and say they were wrong about 1914 this date has no scriptural significance and the same is true of 1919. jws were not chosen in 1919 as the one and only true religion.. we just donât know about so many things and it takes humility to admit we were wrong.. i would like to see even more lightening up on stupid restrictions like young people being allowed to have a varied friends and activities that are not with jws only..
RATTIGAN350:
You said: âWhy would you want to do a dumb thing like that?â regarding celebrating holidays.
While I realize that some people on the forum are looking for an excuse to go back to the Witness religion, I am not one of them. I was raised Catholic and loved the Holidays.
While the JWs like to say Holidays are âpaganâ, many things in the world are pagan: the calendar, days of the week, wedding bands. I believe the REAL reason the religion doesnât want people celebrating holidays is because they want to separate people from their non-Witness family/friends! ..The religion is afraid if people spend time around family/friends who are not judging them and who love them - these JWs might not stay in the Witness religion! ..Good for anybody who figured this out and good riddance to the JW religion.

PHIZZY:
Of course the Norway court made the right decision.
The most important thing to me is that this publicity hopefully exposes the Jehovahâs Witnessesâ toxic culture to more people in the world!.. Far too many people have no idea of what goes on in the Witness religion. When I have described my experience in the religion and the shunning I got for working a full-time job, people can hardly believe it.. Itâs just that abnormal.
The JW religionâs hypocrisy and deception is like nothing anybody has ever seen and the world deserves to know about it! .. You remember how they once said:âAdvertise advertise advertiseâ? Well, thatâs what needs to happen with regard to the toxic culture in the Witness religion! ..The world needs to know about this!
interesting video connects the dots.

MEAN MR. MUSTARD & CAREFUL:
So, there you have it. Really.
The rules, regulations and practices in the Jehovahâs Witness religion are in the eldersâ manual - along with the pencil scribbled notes.. This is the book that nobody is supposed to see but the elders. The rank & file donât see it..so they can claim to somebody âthat the religion never said thatâ or âthat is not in writingâ. The fact: it IS in writing. It is just that the writing is in a secret place.. Very easy to destroy if they are instructed to do so.
I am sure back in the day when I was soft-shunned and not invited (because I had a full-time job which Iâm glad I kept) - that this âtreatmentâ or any other hate campaigns against certain individuals in the congregation ..were not written down in any literature seen by the public.. But, I have no doubt this was probably written and/or scribbled somewhere in some idiot eldersâ manual.
realistically, between now and 2034, what do you think watchtower will change or reform to appear more mainstream?
what business opportunities do you see watchtower getting involved in?.
my predictions are as follows: .
PHIZZY:
At least the Churches of Christendom were in reality that people had to work long hours during the week! So, Sunday was their day to be free to attend for an hour or so.
As somebody who worked full time it was hard to make weeknight meetings when I was in the Witness religion. If the religion adopts one meeting during the week there will be those who work and either cannot make it or they will be late.
Not that it makes any difference to me since I am long Out of the WitnessesâŚbut I think it would be a mistake on their part to abandon a Sunday meeting in favor of one during the week. Just my opinion.
i am non political and have never voted but nonetheless i have been keenly watching to see how the trump presidential race unfolds.
i believe that his involvement in propelling or influencing a leaning toward bible prophecy will unfold.
how, i canât say but something tells me that this anomaly and outlier being trump is highly signifiant!
DESIROUS OF CHANGE:
Exactly. And the left would have us all believe these illegals/migrants streaming in are all here to pick produce or work in construction jobs! Bullsh#t.
It seems every democrat I talk to either ignores this very important issue about the broken border and the country being invaded OR itâs no big deal to them. They voted on stupid issues, cheering like idiots and imagine this particular issue somehow will not affect them!
They arenât even thinking about the inevitable big picture of sky high crime all over; everybody would eventually need bars on their windows like the south Bronx and other places!!.. Never mind the lower standard of living and other implications. Itâs almost as though these deluded people are hypnotized to cut their own throats - and I believe they are.
in the past, we used to hear talks on:.
avoiding sexual immorality and porn, as well as masturbation and other sexual practices.
why evolution cannot possibly be true.
UKPIMO:
No, itâs not you. The Witness religion has definitely lowered its standards.
This is caused by loss of many members due to death; the many who walked away because of faulty teachings and failed prophecy (me over the 1995 Generation teaching).. plus lawsuits and loss of funding in certain countries over human rights issues.
So, the religion felt compelled to do away with decades-old teachings that werenât even biblical to start with. Iâm sure this is a bitter pill for the judgmental older JWs there who followed all these old rules & regulations.
watchtower put out some highlights for the 2024 service year:.
average publishers: 8,828,124. peak publishers: 9,043,460. a 43.2 percent increase in "those who returned to jehovah", meaning 65,816 were reinstated.
baptized: 296,267. memorial attendance: 21,119,442. missing stat: number of partakers .. womp womp.
SANCHY:
I donât believe for one minute that this figure of 9 million is true.
I didnât even believe the JWs had 8 million but felt the number was half of that - especially in recent years.
