Why GB Distorts the Story of Job

it’s a fair jab to question how someone so detached from hardship might approach a story of utter loss.

I have no problem believing Job or somebody like him existed in antiquity - even if there is no grave marker…

The reason I believe the JW religion likes to distort the story of Job is that his story is about extreme suffering.. In fact, suffering so horrendous that most people wouldn’t want to live through it.. The JW religion knows its members have suffered (maybe not exactly like Job) and it doesn’t want to hear complaints. Imagine that? It knows its predictions didn’t happen and many are suffering with poverty because of bad advice to not plan decades earlier for their senior years.

The religion wants to instill guilt so its members will just shut up.. Just my opinion about it all.

for years and years growing up in this cult, i had to constantly hear from my parents, from the stage, in the literature, about "keeping your eye simple", not being "materialistic", not "having a showy display of one's wealth.

" of course, this never seemed to apply to the wealthy business owning elduhzzzz who ran and lorded it out over the congregations, but i digress.

You saw the hypocrisy up close and personal. You saw certain people be ‘rewarded’ for their wrongdoing (not that it’s wrong to get that education) - but others were ‘punished’, ie. ostracized and not invited.. It all depended on who you were related to.

Yeah, the whole religion is corrupted from top to bottom and too bad the world doesn’t know.. You sound as if you were born in or raised in.. I came in as a young adult with a job I wouldn’t quit to appease these SOBs who hate women. (They didn’t tell some brother to quit his job to clean toilets! Nah they just targeted women for this garbage. But I wasn’t buying it.)

The reason that we are all angry, in my opinion, is that there will never be justice for all the past atrocities and/or unequal and unfair treatment many JWs and ex-JWs suffered.. In my case, I never listened and just did my own thing. Thank God.

I can only claim ‘hurt feelings’ over shunning years ago.. Big deal.. It is worth every penny now to have been excluded from JW gatherings back then.. I’m sure many broke pioneers today might wish they had that full-time job years ago and said shove it to those worthless special gatherings!

All in all, we are Glad we aren’t in the religion now.. I can guarantee you that somebody would come up to us with an envelope asking for $$ for people there who never really worked.👎 In my case, the answer would be No.

You are right about the many ‘pauper rank-n-file Sheeple’. Meanwhile, no social programs or help from the religion they slaved for.

And why are these Sheeple in this bad shape?? Because they foolishly followed advice from the JW religion not to get careers. . And what do these now broke older Witnesses get for pioneering for 40 years?? They are told they have ‘served Jehovah with a complete heart’.😮

Imagine hearing this from some idiot JW?? So Glad I never paid any mind to what they said years ago.

Do JWs see the org falling apart?

i have been away from the jw cult for many years.

i don't have any family i talk to that are in it.

so i don't know if the jws as a whole are seeing the cult fall apart or if they or the majority of them are head in the sand la la la the end is neigh.

ALL these Witnesses you mention are nothing but hypocrites in my opinion.

Here they are all admitting things are very wrong with the religion and the GB - but yet they still cling to this toxic false religion. I am so glad I got out ages ago because I could not stand to be around these people.. The same JWs that privately bitch about these things would have criticized me over my job years ago and not getting enough ‘hours’ in FS.

As far as the Catholics go: I was raised Catholic and at least I didn’t have a bullseye target painted on me like I experienced with the Witnesses.. I had to fend off Users left and right in the Witness religion.👎

the czech ministry of culture is considering the possible cancellation of the religious registration of the jehovah’s witnesses religious society, and has sent the organisation an appeal to desist from its illegal activities, ministry spokeswoman jana zechmeisterova told ctk today.. the ministry has received thousands of complaints from the jehovah’s witnesses about the proposal, which must be dealt with first.

administrative proceedings have not yet been initiated, zechmeisterova said.. she said the ministry had begun to deal with the proposals it had received about the cancellation of the registration of the religious society of jehovah’s witnesses (nssj).

The JW religion urging its idiot members to write letters to foreign countries’ leaders only serves to clog up their system (which is probably the intended result). Just think of why chain letters are frowned upon here.

By doing this JWs only earn the hate of other governments who in turn end up persecuting the JWs who are there even more.

It’s a social club at this point and for the older Witnesses there just coasting, that’s fine for them. They already supposedly made their living. Let them stay there.. But, if somebody is young and has to make a living and function in the real world around sane people - they better get the hell out of there, in my opinion.

When I left after the 1995 Generation teaching, I was well into my working career so I didn’t leave for that. I left because I couldn’t stand any more BS. I also was tired of the phoniness and intrusive behavior, etc.. I had no more tolerance for this worthless unpaid ‘second job’ as I saw it.. I knocked myself out making meetings on cold week nights after a day’s work. For what??

The JW religion wasn’t necessarily ‘falling apart’ yet.. I just had enough and was Done with it and so began my ‘Fade’.

it would sound like they are hinting at a change in thinking.. in my opinion, any such change would be yet another slap in the face to faithful pimis along with those other recent changes.. there are so many heartfelt responses on that thread and a lot of justified anger.. don’t know what to say except that i’m so glad i never listened to the religion all those years ago.

As far as the religion’s propaganda statement of “what would Jehovah want you to do?”: I have never believed the God of the Universe was interested in my secular job..This is purely an invention of the hateful Witness religion itself. Nothing more.

God help me if I had listened to those people back then. I am glad you are finally retired. I understand you worked longer to catch up - but at least you caught up.. Others on the forum are in a terrible predicament today in 2025.

This hateful false religion could have ruined my life if I had followed their ‘edicts’ years ago. I didn’t and they hated me for it and made sure I was not invited and was gossiped about.. I was scoffed at as the ‘low hour publisher’. Well, I’d wear that badge proudly today. My hours were well spent where they should have been - on secular jobs which provided a retirement.

Again, would somebody care to tell me what kind of Retirement income does working in the full-time ministry knocking on doors for 30+/40 years in the Jehovah’s Witness religion provide to anybody??? What would that monthly Dollar amount be???☺️

I didn’t know quite where to put my latest post but it does in some way relate to Retirement:

I just saw a thread on Reddit about somebody talking about their recent CO visit and referring to it as “Knucking Futz..” which it sounds like.

An anecdotal story was related about a sister who couldn’t get off her job one day to attend an assembly. She ends up quitting her job…but gets an anonymous letter in the mail essentially telling her somebody is giving her a great deal of money, etc. so no financial worries.

AGAIN, there is this never ending ridiculous theme of trying to convince JWs to quit their jobs! Only in this case there is the ‘hope’ planted in somebody’s mind that an anonymous benefactor might drop a pile of money on them! Anybody who falls for this garbage of quitting their job is certainly not planning for their retirement. I hate to disillusion anybody but I have never heard of the religion supporting anybody - (unless maybe if you’re a GB member who knows too much!)

If the ‘new system’ is anybody’s retirement plan — Good luck.

This is the same shit I heard there decades ago but Thank God I never listened.

hi to all, i have been away from the organization since the 1980's and as it seems, i haven't missed a thing.

i have seen a deterioration take place that is continually getting more dramatic than i have ever seen.

the thumbing down or the minimizing of spiritual food is reason enough that people are starving for something good.

TRUTH AND JUSTICE:

Hearing all this makes me glad I was not born into the Witness religion and have no family there. How unnatural this all is to anybody outside! You also saw that ‘lack of love’ that I experienced.

I came in as a young adult and had my hard knocks and criticism because I had to work and support myself.. But, this was merely a walk in the park compared to some JWs experience of being shunned by relatives! How awful.

I ended up finally leaving the JW religion after their 1995 Generation teaching… No more nonsense for me! I was glad to reconnect with my non-JW relatives and rejoin the human race.

If estranged JW relatives are reaching out you might want to be friendly but be careful because it might be about dragging you back into the religion.👎👎👎
