I'd love to find some 3rd party verification of that story in CoC
I hope to be able to check this out with my Mexico connection contacts within the next several months.

i don't know if this might be a repeat, sorry if it is.
i am in the middle of reading coc.
do you think that mexico jw's were spared by the governing body from rigid rules of not being involved in military issues/political party issues compared to other countries such as malawai, because the wts could make more money from people in mexico converting to jws as opposed to some other countries such as malawi?.

if i told you that something bigger is on the horizon than dateline, bbc, cbc, sunday (australia), and all other tv programs which exposed the sexual child abuse cover-up by watchtower in 2002-2003, would you believe me?
have i ever misled you?
i'll answer that--no!
I agree that there is hardly anything that could be revealed that would empty the KH's. Others have well stated the reasons why. I would be happy if we can just release a small percentage of the current JW's (perhaps some family members) & give prospective victims one more thing to add to the negative side of their paper as they do their research. If we can stop the growth, that is accomplishment in itself. So lets not be discouraged if we don't see a stampede for the doors.
Maybe we can do more than was done with the UN thing. I heard it from only one source and , of course, didn't believe it. The same source mentioned it again 2 years later & gave the UN link which I looked up. But (here is my point) no JW I ever mentioned it to had ever even heard of it. Hopefully we can get the word out so they will at least have the opportunity to hear, since they are not allowed to look on the net.

the december canadian kingdom ministry has an article "could your child make a mature decision.
" it instructs parents to indoctrinate their kids to refuse blood and make themselves a martyr.
this, to me, was one of the most chilling sentences in the article (paragraph 3):
The youth would need to understand reasonably the gravity of his medical condition and the consequences of his options for treatment
How many adults understand their options with the confusion of the fractions, procedures, etc.according to WT law?

ok, all you male ex/jws what do you think of women now!
barbara is giving us some inside information about the org and this comes from a women, on top of that!!!!!!!
do you have the moxie to admit you frown/ed on women?
Blindersoff, what's your view of women? Honest opinion.
I like 'em. Thanks for asking.
Seriously , I really don't know how to give a meaningful concise answer. I just think every person or situation has to be evaluated individually.
Someone referred to something the Society quoted from an unknown source. 'Men think; women feel'.
I have certainly seen women think & men feel also.
Maybe a more specific question would help me give a better answer. I thought I already gave my opinion about the subject of this thread.

I don't think we can paint all men or all women with the same brush.

I don't like to make blanket statements, but if something really needs to get done, generally, I would prefer to see a woman carry the ball. Since Barbara has the ball, I am happy to block for her if I can.
The co said our cong had the best accounts servant in the circuit. A sister (behind the signature of her husband)

i am a bit nervous making a reply.
i find it a bit challenging to gather my thoughts and express them in the written forum, but her goes!
i have been coming to this site for years.
I hope that you can help give some of us some insight as to how people can remain in the borg knowing all is not "right",
I remember talking to people at the door and coming away puzzled when some would admit they didn't agree with their church, but stuck with it anyway. The same influences are at work here I suppose.
I never quit a job unless I had another to go to, etc. It is difficult to adjust to the concept that there must be one & only one ORGANIZATION. The idea of being a Christian without an organization is so different from what we have been taught. So they may stay simply because they have not found any other org. that is any better. I think that is why when many learn the truth about 'the truth', it destroys thir faith in all organized religion.
A very important issue with some is that they are not ready to deal with the stresses that come from being shut out by family who are still captive.
IMHO

i know many people will get angry at this, but i had to share some observations i've had since i discovered this board a couple of days ago (see my original post under "why all the venom?").
i'll be very honest and say that i was hoping that i would discover that the jw's were wrong about some things, including the so-called "apostate" sites (i have been recommended to some internet sites and some books that i plan to investigate further).
i was hoping to find that people really didn't need the jw's "spiritual food" to remain true to god.
I just got the general impression that they were bad news, that they could hinder one's spirituality.Ah, well, I guess it depends on how you define spirituality
Dave,
That is an excellent point. Ray Franz pointed out that the worship of a Christian is his 'way of life'.
WTS would limit spirituality to organizationally sanctioned 'spitiual pursuits', 'spiritual goals', 'spiritual interests' as though these are different from everday life.

famous jehovah's witnesses
dwight d. eisenhower - u.s. president (raised jw) .

Someone told me Selina's family were JWs.. not sure if that was true though..
I know the man who gave the memorial for her.

it's been a while since this topic has been brought up.
use it as a chance to see if there is someone you might know from years past.
1973-1976 --- lakeside, ca??
Bricklayer?
Bryan,
I guess not--sent you a message.
I know a lot of people in the Houston area from working with them---flood relief/KH quickbuilds/Rosenberg AH, convention work, elders meetings, etc. Always interested to see if any of them have found the truth about 'the truth.'
