it seems as though many people come to this board and leave in a short space of time.. it's a pity.. there are people on this board who are very nice and polite even when discussing various views.
this leads to understanding and concern.
i would like to meet you people.. please post in here.. i term nice as being kind, not cursing, love for god almighty, thrives on the right things in life, not hurting other's feelings, etc.. blessed star

we use df'd = disfellowshipped and da'd = disassociated.
the new term has to be - inloojw = "_______ is no longer one of jehovah's witnesses" to be correct.. let's get on the band wagon kids.
not as crisp and easy i know.
I'm with Willy. Too long. How about INLO? {Is No Longer One} It is short and can be pronounced.

no birthday, wedding, first year at a job, first year of a relationship............none seem to bring so much introspective thought as my first year here.. i stumbled on this place looking for more jw's to hang out with online.
i had no idea what i was in for.
it did not take long to know that i was among my own kind.. deep thinkers come here to talk, discuss, argue, love, hate, heal, share, but mostly give.
Hey Purps,
I remember when you started posting and always felt there was a lot of potential there.
Cheers as you continue your journey.

the watchtower uses bible verses to enforce their shunning policy so that the rank and file won't talk to ex-j.w.
's and therefore find out why they left the org.. also, they use verses to stop the rank and file from looking at "apostate" literature and research the watchtower policies.. my question.... what are some of the doctrine that could be used to enforce "new" watchtower policies?
policies that should be in place, but are not?.
I think they are more and more conditioning the r/f that scripture is not necessary. Just obey the FD master slave.
i believe it was paragraph 17, the one that spoke about the faithful slave and how there are those who wish to be "independent" and that this is wrong.
two comments came, both from elders.
elder 1: so what the paragraph is telling us is that instead of developing an independent spirit we actually want to be developing a spirit of dependece upon god's organization and the spiritual food they provide.
Our WT conductor said with a very serious look--'When we read some direction in the WT, it is just the same as if it was in the letter sent to the cong after the Acts chapter 15 meeting.'

i got involved with with the witnesses in 1971. some of the local kingdom halls would place a small notice in the paper about the upcoming sunday talk- bro.
so&so from chicago will give the lecture on "how to recognize the true religion", etc.
a general invite to all was given and a phone number to call for info and a "free bible study!
Yes. I was responsible to go the newspaper with the info.
B
i did.
many, actually.
and i regret that they're (many) still active witnesses.
A few. But the stupidest thing I ever did (in this regard) was risk getting fired by taking off work against orders to take some one to a C/A to get dunked.

They dropped a minimum of four passes, three by linebacker Joey Porter's favorite "soft" tight end, badly bearded Jerramy Stevens.
They gave up not only their longest running play of the season, but the longest offensive play, period, in Willie Parker's back-breaking, 75-yard touchdown run on the second half's second play from scrimmage.
They got as many interceptions thrown by quarterback Matt Hasselbeck -- one, at a time when Seattle was close to some kind of much-needed score amid a tenuous, 14-10 Steelers lead -- as he had thrown in his previous half-dozen games.
They missed back-to-back field-goal attempts of 50-plus yards by Josh Brown.
They misfired on five of their last six third-down conversion tries.
They converted just one of their three trips inside the Steelers' 20, and this from the NFL's leader in the territory known as the red zone.
We made a lot of mistakes," Tatupu offered meekly. "We kept hurting ourselves. That's stuff we can't have. The team that makes the fewest mistakes comes out on top."

after reading about puternuts (ari) suicide, and also reading about sabine and js losing their daughter to this cult, i think it would be a fitting memorial, so to speak, to write a list of all the people we know who died because of this cult.
i also know that cruzanheart lost her dad to it, too.
i'm sure there are many here that can make a list of suicides brought on by the shunning/threatening policies of the watchtower cult.
I don't want to be too specific, but I know of one person who came home from a cir assembly and did it that night.
