i have to say that the longer that i stay away from jehovah's witnesses, the easier it is to see that they are so wrong!

so wrong about how they live their life, so wrong about their fundamental belief system, so wrong about how they treat people---whether they are jws or aren't.

for any of you lurker witnesses here, please get off the fence and recognize you were never "in the truth".

Everyone wakes up at a different time! Hopefully, yours is sooner than later because the damage that this 'religion' does to your family is sometimes irreversable.

I never saw it, or didn't want to see it, because I thought that it would be against j-god to think that this is not the "truth". I have found that whatever you "believe" in becomes a reality. So you can believe in monsters, demons, or the end of the world, if you want to. But I will choose to believe that the world of humanity is not all evil, but rather people who are just trying to find happiness and love. Love

Hi maple newbie, welcome- I know what you mean. You learn not to read people for they way they come off. You just dismiss it and think you are being negative in thinking that so-and-so seems abusive. But how could that be in "Jehovah's house"?!!! It's so crazy.

By the way- I know that kind of smirk all too well. It's as if they have it plastered on their face just to seem normal. I think it's because they are planning their strategies at all times. Like a game or war tactics. They get really proud of themselves for being sneaky enough to get away with it. Like a conquerer. They don't even see how weak they really are. And every so often they get hit with guilt and try to make up for it by being everyone's friend and a help to others. But then the feeling passes and they're right back setting out tactics for their next prey.

It's a shame that the watchtower society does not view these people as a threat to our future generations. They view it more like a man's weakness, like looking at pornography to the point of addiction or masturbating too much is a weakness. They say that if they know of anything happening that they report it to the police. Since when! Out of all the ex-jw's in the world that have been a victim of child abuse, when have you ever heard of the elders calling the police? I never have. If a few here and there did get reported, that is not enough! Every case needs to be reported! These are people lives and futures.

Their own literature states, 'If you know of someone committing a sin, then you are required to report the matter, or you are just as guilty as the person who sinned'. In that case, the WTS are child abusers and one day the 'wrath of god' (in whatever form that will be) will come down on them and show no mercy. Wouldn't it be great if this case was the beginning of the end for them?!

Welcome, anti- and fright-

I'm glad you posted and responded to this story. It just goes to show people that the elders (wts) does not think that child molestation is a crime. How horrible for these children! And I bet alot of the children he molested were witness children that had to go to the meetings with their attacker. Shame on the WTS and the elders!

That's just sick! If a grown man said that to a 12 year old, anywhere else in the world everyone would look at that man like he was disgusting and a pedophile for even thinking that! It's amazing how a little girl turns into a harlot, from about 11- 14 years old, in their eyes. Shame on them...shame...on...them!

What did they all do on "worldly holidays" when you were home alone?

i always hated being alone on thanksgiving or christmas.

what bothered me was that if it were known you accepted an invitation by relatives it was frowned upon.

but what got to me was this: is god more pleased that i am home looking at four walls alone rather than being over somebody's house??

For Halloween we went out to eat most years. It was really humiliating when everyone would ask us why we weren't out trick or treating. Then they would try and give us candy and we had to turn it down, you should have seen the looks on the waitresses faces. (like- what freaks!)

For Thanksgiving- I remember one year when we went to the hospital and had a turkey dinner. I never understood how it was ok to eat it at the hospital, but not at home or at our families house. Most years we would eat chicken on Thankgiving.

Christmas was really fun- we would all go to a state park that had a beautiful lodge and tobaggoning(spell-?) and all the local witnesses met there and had dinner together at the lodge restaurant and then we went swimming. We would stay there about 3-4 days. One year my friend and I almost fell through the ice in our pajamas, we wanted to see what it was like with no one around or no sounds being made by other people. It was cool until we heard a cracking sound and we both took off running. Plus, they had herds of deer there and we always saw babies and their mothers. I went back there recently and it just wasn't the same.

After every holiday, my mom would buy the clearanced candy. I could never understand why it was evil to buy the candy before the holiday.

Do world events preoccupy you?

when you read the news on the net or tv or in the news paper, do you get worried about war, oil prices, ozone depletion, species dying, and the list could go on and on, or are you just numb about it?

i found these 2 forums, and they really think that the end is close, and they aren't jw's !!!!

love11, I don't think the government regulates the news as much as making money.

True. But in America there have been cases of that. Like when "the military" wouldn't show pictures of the dead soldiers caskets coming home. They said it would be... disrespectful ? I think at the time this all happened, Bush didn't want anymore bad publicity on the Iraqi war and "persuaded" the military to make that decision. IMO There are alot of weird things like that happening. But also, I am into all of the conspiracy theories, although I don't believe most to be true. I think it's because after the witnesses pulling a "wool over my eyes" as a child, I'm less likely to believe people or organizations.

i toy with the idea of doing this sometimes just for fun...i was wondering if you guys think it would work...i was thinking of going to an out of town congregation where no one knows me and just introducing myself as a visiting witness.

no one would know i was dsf'd...would they?.

of course i wouldn't give my real name...it just seems so funny to me b/c i could so totally play up the zealous pioneer b.s.
