Apostates' Idealised Image of their Time as a Witness
by slimboyfat ini know some apostates become bitter and can see nothing good in their time spent as witnesses, but i am not talking about that kind of apostate.
i am talking about the other kind of apostate who tends to idealise certain aspects of their time in the witnesses.
what motivates such sentiments i wonder?

Maybe loneliness I used to want to go back when I first was out. I just wanted to have all of my friends and family back. But then, the people that were really my friends ended up leaving and my family never really cared for me anyways. So it all worked out in the end, but it took awhile. Now I can't imagine my life any other way. I love my freedom. I still have good morals and common sense just without all of the guilt and judgement. Life is good... it'd be better if I didn't have a sinus infection! hehehehe

Why do jehovah's witnesses call catholics and other religions babylon the great? Why do they say that all humanity will be distroyed except for one small group (jw's) of people in the world? Why does the us government put child molesters in prison when "god's" organization only makes those men lose their positions in the congregation? Why do the jw's eat pork and rare bloody steaks yet will let a child die before they get life saving blood? Why do jw's think that they are the only ones that have the truth and everyone else worships the devil? Why? Why?

I'm at home still trying to wake up, rainy days are always slow moving. I'm waiting on my son to get home off of the bus from pre-school. So it's just me and my dog all sleepy like. (If only I could find more emot-icon for what I'm feeling) hahhahaha

Calling All Ex Witnesses
by FiveShadows init's me again...most of you don't remember me, but i am in need of personal experiences and comments that you may help me out with.
i met someone online who has apparently turned out to be a good associate of mine.
however, she has informed me that though she has her own beliefs and hates religion itself, she does like to get different perspectives on what people believe.

My bio- I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness from infancy. My father at one point was a ministerial servant and my mother and I were auxiliary pioneers. At 18 I was disfellowshipped. Over the years, I have lost everyone in my family except an occasional phone call from my sisters .(No calls anymore). All of my friends except for one are gone as well. Currently, My husband and I have been faithfully and lovingly married for 10 years. We have two wonderful children together and enjoy the happiness they bring to our lives. At first, life away from the organization was hell, but now I am living in a "paradise on earth". I wrote most of my story under these two links, look under love11 http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/20/85665/1441935/post.ashx#1441935 http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/86542/1443218/post.ashx#1443218 I think that after seeing everyone's experiences and comments on what the jw's are really like, she'll see past their smiling faces and see what it's really about.

What's the purpose of restrictions after reinstatement?
by truthseeker inthe parable of the prodigal son.
i will set out and go back to my father and say to him: father, i have sinned against heaven and against you.
" "my son," the father said, "you are always with me, and everything i have is yours.

But the question is, where and how did Jehovah's Witnesses aquire the practice of putting someone on restrictions, despite the sinners repentance?
The real question should be- Why do the JW's disfellowship repentant people when they state in their own law books that they will only disfellowship unrepentant people ?
The thing is they will follow the bible when they need to make a point or they will follow their own laws. They are literally making a new "bible" as they go along. Maybe in 10 years, this will have a new light shed on it and they will no longer do that.

I read all the links and I'm glad that this guy got something for what he did. But compared to what those kids had to go through, I'm sure it's not enough. Hopefully, they are healing and doing well now.

Don't worry we all put our foot in our mouth sometimes. (Well...I do)
At least you can rest easy knowing that we won't judge you for any mistakes. Glad you stuck around to find that out. I hope you find someone that is just right for you.
