it doesn't have anything to do with the bible or xianity.
you know, "what does it mean to be saved?" -- "be" being the key word here, not "saved".
if a xian knows the difference between being and having, and lives it, then like "jesus the nazarene" (or what he represents), they are probably also saved, existentially speaking.

i work for a fairly large corporation.
our company is establishing a new tobacco policy where smokers and tobacco users are no longer allowed to use tobacco in any form, either cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chew, or snuff, anywhere on company property.
this includes inside or outside the building, the parking lot, or even in your own personal vehicle while in the parking lot.
So, lucky me, has been given the task by corporate to find out ways to communicate and enforce this new policy, as well as come up with some suggestions on alternates to tobacco use while at work.
don't do it. unless you want to be made fun of.
So, I'm asking if anybody has any suggestions that can be used to curtail smoking while at work, and offer any suggestions on alternatives to tobacco use. Also, I'm wondering if anybody else has a similar policy at their place of employment.
well, since cigarettes are as addictive as heroin, the only alternative that i can think of is:
MARIJUANA CIGARETTES
...that's right folks. REEFER!! if you can use it to kick heroin, you can use it to kick tobacco.
and the citizens of the big, smiling, happy, facist, corporation can all smile at each other and bring lots of snacks to work from now on.

i was reflecting having read someone's thread about blowing off non jw family that actually it would have been so much better if i had a larger family, preferably not completely jw saturated and this random train of thought led me to thinking that if i could choose i would be catholic, because then i would have a huge family, go to really nice gothic churches with lots of candles and tortured saints and be able to go to confession (instead of lt's mobile).
also the colours of the whore of babylon always were a lot more enticing to me than the mild blues and undistracting beiges of the khs.. i think we all have religions which would suit our personalities so much better.

if i had to choose one religion it would be Jedi, hands down.

technically, "love" is a word with a definition in the dictionary.
chemically, "love" is probably a nice mix of serotonin, oxytocin and dopamine.
romantically, "love" is two people with implicit faith in each other.
spiritually, love is all, and all is love. this makes nature love, of which we are a part. (yes, diseases are part of nature too).
does love exist outside of ourselves? i guess it's like asking if God exists outside of ourselves. both are things humans experience subjectively. impossible to say, but low probability for objectivity. however, love & god as metaphors go a long way psychologically when aproached as such.

my almost 17 year old daughter left to stay with her dad last thursday.
this is the second time she has left due to my strict rules, like 10p school day curfue, get to school on time, keep your grades above a c. she has not kept to my rules, so as a consequence i told her this last wednesday night she has lost driving priviledges of the car i gave her on her 16th birthday.
she said she was leaving to live with her dad.
