  maybe arrogance is not the right word but i can find no other that describes what i see.

  the idea expressed by some christians on this board is that somehow god specifically chose them.

  i'll quote perry as an example as his post inspired this thread.

  i have read this board for a couple of years, and only began posting this past year.

  i read some amazingly articulate questions and responses, and i admire the effort that people put into their posts.

  ok so when i finally didnt care, i did attend a jc, but i wanted closure, deep down i actually wanted them to df me.

  - has anyone else been in this scenario, and what did you say at your jc that ensured the right action was taken.. they asked me how i felt about my relationship with jehovah - i simply said, i dont feel anything since i dont have one.

  i dont pray, i dont study, and i dont show much interest.

  during the dark days of the second world war , the monsters that ran a concentration camp decided to hang a child.. they hung the poor little chap so that it took half an hour for him to die, all the while making the other inmates look into the face of the child.. where was your god then ?

  was he not strong enough to do anything or did he just not care ?.

  if the first then he is a very weak god, if the second then,.

  So what's the problem? Would you rather God just have annilated Adam and Eve and started over? What about the next pair that exercised their god-given free will.....what then?

  Yes, I would rather it had done that. Or, it had several other options.

  1) Quit experimenting with creating life forms. Stick with planets and things like that. (No excruciating pain and death)

  2) Hang out with it's creation so that they all knew for sure it existed.

  3) Made us all robots and programmed us to know for sure what was right and wrong. Still give us the ability to love, laugh, enjoy life without making mistakes that would bring on horrible death by fire, flood, volcano, disease, starvation, wild animal (bears on children, and stuff like that).

  there's probably some more things it could have done.

  Every 3 weeks, about 6,000,000 people die. Each one is just important as each one of us. They have family, wives, children, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters, grandparents, grandchildren. Their family members suffer just as much as we do when we lose someone we love.

  Every 3 weeks. 6,000,000 people die. Some go peacefully, but most go horribly.

  If there is a god, I don't think it's resurecting them all will make up for it.

  There are a couple of reasons we have gods.

  Hope.

  i have expressed in this forum that sometimes im confused as to what will be my ultimate decision.

  at this point in my life there is too much at stake.

  first, my own emotional estate, ill hate to bitterly regret the years expend taking unnecessary emotional abuse and theocratic bulling.
