  Reaching Out

  as witnesses we were always encouraged to reach out for the privalige of doing this or that or a whole lot of other stuff that doesnt make any scence now .. but its important in life to have something to reach out to.with me i have my wife my little kid and financial security (the kid came aftter i left the witnesses) .

  only i havnt found anything to replace the importance of reaching out.as a witness (however misguided that reaching out was).

  what in your life has replaced your once sincere belives and given your life the purpose you once had?.

  it presents the policies through the jw filter that ignores its pathetic inneficiency and reality.

  the article's tone is that of "look how good we are compared with other religions.

  no one stands up and says "we're terribly distressed. We don't support this at all and we want to help the police as much as possible to arrest these people and prevent them from doing more harm." It would certainly gain them some respect in the world, although they don't care about that, do they?

  They might gain some respect, but they might lose half the men reaching out too!

  it was announced at the meeting last night that next week all should be in attendance at the service meeting as a special important letter will be read.

  this is in addition to the letter about the district convention.

  Anyone still have trouble expressing anger?

  having been doubly mind-f*&ked by an organization that preaches peace and poor boundaries and a perfectionistic mother who hates conflict, i find myself still having great difficulty expressing my anger in a healthy way.

  my past response when angry was to cry or turn the anger on myself and become self-destructive, ultimately leading to suicidal thoughts.

  i find lately my subconscious percolating anger almost constantly.

  It's obvious to me now, that I did not have as much emotion/heart invested in the org as many here, even though I was raised in it. A lot of the anger I have experienced over the last 5 years comes from seeing the trauma the WTS has caused others (maybe I'm in denial). This forum has helped me deal with those anger issues. I see the damage, but I also see a lot of healing (movin' on) taking place.

  I thought it was a great "snapshot" of how the WTS comes to it's conclusions. I can see it now. When I was a kid, growing up in the culture, I just went along with the flow. Not anymore.
