i am still an active jw, in fact an elder of 20 years standing hence my need to limit information about my personal circumstances.
i have served in a number of countries in europe as a pioneer and elder over the past three decades.

Tossed out of the District Convention! What did I do wrong? I exist!!
by Terry inthis is a stupid story if it is a story at all..... quentin and i decided we'd go to the district convention since it is right here in our home town.. why?.

i got chucked out of a wedding..
i had arrived early to get a seat at the back in a corner out of the way..because it would be more obtrusive to do the df thing and come in during the song cos thats when the bride and her entourage are entering.
you are right..it is humiliating and bewildering. i left as calmly as i could in a highly emotional state.
and i was not apostate and i was attending all the meetings
about 6 months later when i applied for reinstatement i was told that i had behaved in a manner that df-ed people shouldn't (refering back to the wedding incident)
application denied.
so the point of not including df-ed ones in such activities is to get them to feel it and then want to get back...and after feeling it and wanting to get back you are told that you shouldnt put yourself in a position to feel it..or that you are wrongly motivated for being accepted back.
it still convinces me that they have no divine backing.

that said... my take on last night's rem concert at lakewood amphitheater.
ok, so i'm an athenian, that means i'm supposed to love all things athens, georgia is about; but i've never been a big rem fan... in fact, when i was offered front row tickets given by the band themselves, i really didn't want to go.

anyone awake?

i've been around the dial a dozen times, there's nothing to watch.
according to the thermometer in my car, it was 123 degrees in palm desert today about 5 p.m. of course, palm desert has miles of concrete, makes it a little hotter than other places.

Let me get this straight after OH about 5 hours of back and forth and no score there is a kick off to determine the winner first goal wins why don't they just start with the kick off and save us 5 boring hours...
well i guess it is for the same reason they dont start tennis games with tie breaks, grid iron with sudden death overtime, cricket with bowl offs, baseball seasons with world serieses..you get my drift.
if you actually spent 5 hours watching a game that bores you...then more fool you.
if you were 'forced' to watch with family, friends, or wife who were watching because they enjoy the game; and you could not get any satisfaction out of this; then more fool you.
if you were forced to watch with fellow drinkers and were unable or simply chose not to move to another drinking establishment, then more fool you.
if you were forced to watch with fellow inmates ...then ignore the above.
