Hi Plmkrzy,
How can we really know? I don't, I wasn't there.
We only have someone elses word.
A thought came to me when thinking on this.
If we came from some primordial goo, wouldn't two creatures have to emerge?
A man and a Woman, if only one emerged wouldn't there be a problem?
And what would be the odds of these two new creatures (man & woman) emerging at the same time?
I really don't know myself, maybe one day I will.
Peace

Do you learn from negative people?
by free2beme ini heard once a comment or quote that said something to the affect,.
"do learn from negative people, is to lower yourself to their thinking and to learn from their vast years of mediocrity".
with that said, i think it pays sometimes to reflect on who we listen too in our life, and more important, who we strive to please and be life.

What IsThis Good News Of The Kingdom?
by Blueblades inreally, what exactly is this good news of the kingdom?
why isn't it mentioned anymore in all the sermons in all the churches when the ministers give their sermons?
most sermons are about accepting jesus in your heart, born again and etc.

Hello Blueblades, At Luke Chapter 22, verse 14, Jesus is sitting down at the Last Supper with the twelve apostles and He is saying unto them, "With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer. For I say unto you, I will not anymore eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come" (verses 14-18).
Here Jesus states that the Kingdom is coming and that certain events will take place when the Kingdom has arrived. Jesus says he will not eat or drink anymore until the Kingdom comes. Now let's search the scriptures to see if Jesus ever does eat or drink again with the apostles.
Go to Acts, Chapter 10, verses 39-41. We are going to be looking at a "flashback." In these verses the apostles are talking about an earlier event, after Jesus rose from the dead, but before He ascended into the clouds. Peter says:
"And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead."
Here we see Jesus' prediction at the Last Supper being fulfilled. Jesus said that the kingdom will come when He eats and drinks again with His apostles (Luke 22:16,18). Now at Acts Chapter 10, the apostles are bearing witness that they did eat and drink with Jesus.
From these events, it is clear that Jesus conferred the Kingdom upon the apostles and that they bore witness that the Kingdom truly arrived.
Let's look again at what Jesus was actually doing. The first event is Jesus telling the apostles at the Last Supper, "The Kingdom is right around the corner. I'm going to go die, and after I am raised up, the Kingdom will be fulfilled. Today I'm eating this Last Supper with you. When I eat and drink with you again, the Kingdom will be fulfilled" (Luke 22:16,18).
Then Christ explains the character of His government and bestows His Father's Kingdom upon them (Luke 22:29). Finally, the apostles testify that they did indeed eat and drink with Jesus after He rose from the dead. This event fulfills Christ's prediction that when He eats and drinks again it will be when the kingdom of God is fulfilled (Acts 10:39-41).
This is the Good News. The evidence is in. These are not parables. This is clear speech. The Kingdom is here. We have that same Kingdom and it is everlasting. If it happened 2,000 years ago, it has to be here now, too. It has never vanished.
Just some thoughts, What do you think? I find these texts very interesting.
Peace

Is the Organization an "Engraved Image"?
by M.J. in.
isaiah 42:8. i am yahweh, that is my name; and my glory will i not give to another, neither my praise to engraved images..

Hello M.J., I would say yes they are because they are incorporated into the State. And as a corporation their authority comes not from God, but the State Attorney General. Excerpt fron article, " Attorney General Heads Incorporated Churches"
It is a basic principle of law that what one creates, one controls. Any church that is incorporated, gets its life from the State and must obey the State or lose its corporate status. "Corporate" means shaped into a body. State incorporated churches are part of the body of the State. We are to be the body of Christ and receive our life from Jesus Christ, not the State. When a church incorporates under the State, the church comes under the jurisdiction of the State and therefore surrenders its headship to the State. The church's chief officers become official representatives of the State by virtue of their corporate charter. Those who incorporate transform their churches into fictitious entities created by the State and ruled by State laws. Such institutions are State churches and they can prove it. They have corporate charters that bear the name of their sovereign the State. According to Black's Law Dictionary, a "corporation" is an "artificial person" or "legal entity" created by or under the authority of the laws of a state or nation. To incorporate means to join with something already formed, to become part of another body. When a church incorporates under the laws of the State, it becomes part of the State's body. A maxim of law says, "What one creates, one controls." State incorporated churches are under the control of their creator, the State. They have taken the body of Christ and joined it to a harlot (1 Corinthians 6:15). A State incorporated church has the State attorney general as its head. The attorney general has the final rule over his corporation. When the pastor conducts his responsibilities, he does them as an agent of the State. During the wedding ceremony, for instance, the pastor says, "Under the authority vested in me by the State of Oregon." He is conducting State business. The State incorporated church is no different from any other State agency. In fact, it is the State. What the church has done is surrender most of the functions of the church to the State. For example, in the old days, births were recorded in the family Bible. Today the church records them with a State agency such as Vital Statistics. Marriage records are also turned over to the State. Charitable work such as helping the poor, the sick, the imprisoned, the orphaned, the homeless and widows is done with State funding and under State control.
The pastor for the State incorporated church promotes compliance with all State requirements. He preaches that Romans 13 means to "obey the law of the land." And he makes sure everyone in the congregation renders unto Caesar. After all, the church does not want to offend its master and lose its tax exempt status.
http://secular.embassyofheaven.com/churchstate/agheadschurch.htm I feel the issue of incorporation of a church would be a interesting topic to pursue. Peace

I need help to clear my mind...
by digglina ini'd like to hear your thoughts on the following.. the thought of da'ing pops up in my mind every now and again.
at the moment i don't associate with any witnesses.
i do walk into them occassionally, but most of them (from different congregations) don't seem to be aware of the fact that i haven't been attending meetings for over a year now.

Hello Digglina and welcome to the board. What I did was DA myself, not formally I just stopped going. When the elders would come by to encourage me to come to the meetings, I refused, gave my reasons why and that was that. I found for myself, that being up-front with everyone made the transition much smoother and didn't drag the process on and on. By just getting it over I was able to get on with life. For me the direct approach worked best. One thing I didn't do, is play their game's and I didn't enter into their venue. Peace
