i get a little money from my dad for medical prob, here comes elders telling my hubby to 'make me' donate it to buy new chairs for hall.
There's nothing lower in the congregation than a woman married to a "worldly" man - at least the single women are up for grabs. Well, let me qualify that - if you're old and single and not so good looking, you're less than dirt as well.
This is very true. They love to treat my mom like crap because my dad is "worldly". They don't mind being nice when they need favors, though, like a good lunch after a long, hard day in service.

during a dinner conversation with a loyal jw, he mentioned that the society seems to be making stronger statements to jw's.
he mentioned the "keep on the watch" brochure, and how it seemed to be for jw's as well as the public.
he acknowledged the "personal questions" the society were asking us, in the brochure - how pointed and direct they are, even asking you to rank your physical and spiritual activities on a scale of 1 to 10. .
I'm a little slow, but are you saying that the JWs have split into other religions? Like the Mormons? How they have the Branch Davidians and the Seventh Day Adventists and all? What are the religions that are split off from JW? I have always wondered why more JWs haven't gone off and made their own religion with their own beliefs.
i ran into an old elder buddy recently and we got talking.. to put it simply, i don't know how he does it!
- that is, i don't know how he continues to be an elder when i consider.
what he knows about.. he knows about the bulgarian compromise.
And none of them actually follow the mantra "Wait on Jehovah". If they did, they wouldn't be popping pills for every headache that came along (as I knew sisters to do all the time), they'd just wait for Jehovah to make the headache go away. IMO, they wouldn't seek medical advice on anything, they'd just wait for god to take care of it. What crap!
you would think after one time of humiliation a person would run from the jw's and never ever step foot inside a kh but my co-worker is in her mid-40's and has been df a total of 4 times since her baptism in 1979. i have talk to her over and over again but she said she is going to meet with the elders and asked to being reinstated.
she is completed shunned by her jw mom and her uncle is a co. i feel sorry for her because she feels so guilty all the time and fears being destroyed at armaggeddon.
she is totally wasting her life running and begging the elders for forgivness.
LOL! That is one solution.....I was just going to say, doesn't she see that it doesn't matter what she does, it won't be good enough? Humans are imperfect. If she gets married, I'll bet she gets DFed for cheating on her spouse. She obviously has a problem with saying no.

i know many who post here are still active jw's or ones who were df'd, but may have not totally left the belief system.
many have trouble with the methods and policies of the wt concerning dfing, restrictions, blood, local elders etc.
Never! I often wonder if I hate organized religion because of the JWs, or if I just don't like hypocrosy in general. And Kwim, that is one strong hamster you have in your avator pic!!

I can't figure out how to get quotes and all, but flyinghighnow worte something about the chemistry between Bruce Willis and Cybil Shephard. I think they were great together, too. Would you believe they actually hated each other in real life? Maybe that's why they had such great chemistry, the sparks of hatred?
