Here's my take. I believe many of the R&F JW's are almost like children. The GB knows this. With a child, if you tell it NOT to do something, what's the first thing the child does?

Why isn't the WTS more direct in regards to "apostate" web sites?????????
by integ ini wonder why the wts does not specifically tell its hapless adherents to not go to apostate websites?
references as to what to beware of on the internet seem to be painted with broad strokes.
always first is pornography, then chat rooms.

OK, I'll bite?..
What happens to people living 75+ years? How much (negative) money will they have?
The SS program is designed to be a retirement supplement, not the only means of retirement. Also if they're that worried about, don't do. The private accounts will be voluntary.
What happens to mentally uncapable people? (people who are just not capable of thinking of money future?)
OK, again, the SS system is set up to be a retirement supplement not a welfare safety net. There are plenty of other social programs for that purpose. Also they don't have to have a private account, it's voluntary; they can stay with a classic SS format.
My 401k plan seems to linger in nadaland, when the financial people promised the world?
Have you tried moving it to a different fund? I keep an eye on my 401k and my IRA, if something starts falling, I move it. Also, again, if your that worried, don't opt for a private account, it's voluntary.

If Congress can have it why can't we. We must be too stupid. I think the government is afraid we might do better with out them. I prefer to make my way thru with the government out of my pocket.
That?s my point. If it?s such a terrible plan, why did Congress, unanimously, pass it for them selves? The truth is being in control of your own money, makes you the worst thing the Government wants, independent. Whether you agree w/ the plan or not, the proposal is VOLUNTARY, it?s your choice.

Another example of a loving God.
by jula71 ini was looking through the newest wt just to see what "new light" there is now.
i came across the questions from readers, and i was amazed by what i read.
from the may 15, 2005 wt, the question was "why were david and bath-sheba not put to death for committing adultery, whereas their newborn son died?

This is a perfect example, imo, of how the WTS trains its followers to not accept responsibility for their actions and choices. In fact, it seems clear to me that this account has been used to demonstrate the reason why the leadership of the WTS is unwilling to accept the responsibility and consequences of rules that they shove down the throats of their followers. To their way of thinking, followers are disposable, but "leaders" are not. If you lose a few "followers" for the sake of maintaining power and leadership, it's a price the leaders are willing to pay.
Scully, Interesting point. Leaders are free from taking any responsibility while the R & F are expendable. Pretty funny how this precedent as been around as long as the bible itself. Make's me think of Arron and the "Golden Calf." It was, according to the bible, Arron's lead that made this happen. Thousands were put to death, he was untouched. Funny how things don't seem to change.....

I hope this doesn't end up being a Democrat-bad, Republican=good thread.
Blondie, I hope as well and that is not my intention. Very true many on both sides are against any privatization, for pretty obvious reasons. The current Social Security system is a major source of income for the Government most of which is not used for the intended purpose. If we are in control of our money they are not, simply put. This poses problem for both sides Dem's and Rep's. But the thing is, why are citizens against it? It would be a totally voluntary program, we don?t have to do it if we don?t want. I want the chance to decide for myself.

Blondie, I have spent a long time looking at this. The site you gave, sorry it's a scam. It's run by the Dem.'s in the Senate, no matter what you put in, it will be a loss.
Try this site:
http://www.heritage.org/research/features/socialsecurity/OWCWelcome_new.asp
This site gives information on how the estimate is arrived at. The other site gives "assumptions", simply a scare tactic to fool people and pit them against the plan.
The_class...even that sounds like a good plan. Right now in the US, you fork over tons of money then it is in turn spent and givin' away and you have a "promise" of at least some of it back when you retire.

Here's something that puts in perspective how loving the "Organization" is:
http://www.kentuckylaketimes.com/localnews/sept04/jwmurders/09100406.php
To quote from the article posted above:
A national spokesman for the Jehovah's Witnesses organization said that Meza "confessed" to church officials about sexually abusing his little girl.
According to some of the vigil participants there were no Jehovah's Witnesses present at the memorial service. "It's been very hard for our family to have coped with these deaths. ... I still do not know why their church was not here grieving here with us tonight," said Ariel Zeledon, Marbely Meza's brother.Pretty telling.........
