f] I beleive that the Borg paints a rosy picture of the past before the 1st World War . It ignores the tyranny of bad government, social injustice , grinding poverty and poor health of the greater number of the poor , of which there were many. Nowadays we are better educated about the past and harder to fool than were our parents who accepted the Watchtower statements as fact.
Blues, you are so right. I have heard a million talks about life before 1914. No one locked their doors, almost no crime, very little war. Then in 1914 everything changed, almost overnight. Now in hindsight, I can?t believe I bought all that?.

A possible reason WHY, the 'New System' was never a Reality to us.
by gumby inperhaps i'm wrong, but this is a possible explanation.i was always taught that a new system would soon replace the old one.
in this new system there would be no more war, everyone would eat from his own 'fig tree', they would build houses and love one another.. .
in every publication that depicted this new system.....it was a picture of a beautiful lush productive earth, people were carrying baskets of vegetables and fruit walking together being of different decent, the men were bulding houses with smiles on their faces, and the children were playing with the animals.

I have a few questions myself about the ?new order.? First, where will all the people fit, I mean an eternity of sex is going to produce a lot of people. Second, no one will grow old and die. Ok, what if a guy is fixing his 12-story roof and falls off? Can he get hurt? Could he die? How about the initial clean up? A few billion bodies will be quite the chore to take care of. A wise man once said, if it doesn?t make sense, it couldn?t be real.

by Gill intoday, whilst shopping, i ran into an old school friend of mine that i had been quite close to.
i used to write her 'sick' notes for her, so as you can imagine, we're friends forever now.. anyway, she tells me that she is studying with jehovah's witnesses again.
i think she expected me to be thrilled with this news.
