she said she will take me to the elders since Jehovah does not accept drunkenness.
Jehovah may not accept drunkards, but there sure are a helluva lot of them in his congregations worldwide!!!! And plenty of them are elders.......
this time it wasn't coffee liquour.. i sat by her...stupid idea...she asked a question...i laughed uncontrolably...she asked if i was drunk...i sobered up quick unlike mel gibson..."of course not"...she said she will take me to the elders since jehovah does not accept drunkenness.
cool..i'll take drunkeness over apostasy any idea (edit: day) ... i drink to that!

sitting here having my morning coffee and i hear on the police scanner---there is a tornado heading for us!.
it is a clear, calm and windless morning in the high 50-degree range.....not a leaf is moving outside my window!
i'm about 4 miles as the crow flies ---about 10 miles by main roads---from lake ontario.....and the weather channel has indeed reported there is a "water spout" heading towards the shoreline, and since that report, more have been spotted.. "water spout" sounds less terrifying than "tornado", but i guess it pretty much means the same thing.
Sunspot, listen to your scanner.....and take cover if necessary.
i sent him off to school this morning and i didn't walk all the way down where i normally do because he's 8 and gets a tad embarrassed that his mom still walks down with him.
so for the most part, i sit on my steps at my appartment trying to listen if i hear him scream.
well, i just watched "without a trace" were a child missed her bus and she was kidnapped and at the end of the story they found her dead.
FF, I'm glad your Zach is ok. Funny, I had the same thing happen to me, with my Zach, the first week of school. I did began to panic, as they called me at work. I knew I'd dropped him off before heading to work. The secretary put me on hold, and returned to tell me he was in class, the teacher accidently marked him as absent. Thank god!!
Here, the school calls immediately, to see if the child is home, so I try to call them if my son's aren't going to be in class that day.
It can be quite harrowing to get such phone calls...
so said an elder's wife who is considered the most respected sister in the congregation.
she said this at my mom's bookstudy where many elderly attend.
when my mother told me what the elder's wife has said, i said, "well, it's better to know now where you stand with jehovah than later, i guess".
The good little obedient and loyal JWs listen to what the WTS SEZ......cuz they are TOLD that "this pleases Jehovah"and the rest is history.
uh-huh....true dat, Sunspot!! Like Mary said too, what will this woman think, if suddenly, she cannot make all the meetings and service and an assembly here and there, due to illness ? What will she think then, when someone says the same thing to her, in that case?!
Even God knows better than to say that.....sheesh!!!!! These people are a god unto themselves, that's the problem. They judge, and make assinine remarks that God himself hasn't even made in his bible.
i haven't seen a recipe thread on here for a lonnnnggg time.
so lets share your favorite recipes, or easy meal ideas!
here is mine:.
We eat a lot of pasta here, so I put a little olive oil in a pan. Add a large onion, sliced real thin, as much garlic as you like. Saute real slow, until becomes translucent and sweet...add plum tomatoes and simmer until the tomatoes are soft and mushy...add Italian seasoning, salt and pepper, a pinch of sugar to combat the acidity of the tomatoes. Let simmer for an hour, stir occasionally, and at the end of cooking add a little more olive oil, stir to mix. Boil your pasta, any kind you prefer, and drain, add the tomato mixture to pasta, stir in lots of parmesan cheese, serve with ceasar salad and fresh Italian loaf. Don't forget the vino. Red.
i think the time has come for me to say good bye.
i came here mainly for research to help get my wife and some friends out and i've done that and more!
i may still stop by from time to time but i feel i can no longer be a full time member.
Take good care, MKR...you will be missed here. I hope your education goes well for you...I'm glad you were able to get your wife and others to see the truth about the "truth". Looking forward to seeing you pop in, once in awhile. Ciao, Dee.
......................mine has got to be the weekly grocery shop....................oh how i dread and hate it.
i used to think it was the ironing but id rather do a ton of ironing if i didnt have to shop.. its so boring, same food week in week out.................loading it onto the conveyer belt, packing it putting it in the car.........taking it out of the car...........putting it into cupboards then saying " what shall i cook for dinner?
" but by then i just can face the food.. so whats yours?, mowing the lawn and cleaning the car are included .
Picking up the dog's "calling cards" all over the backyard. I hate it....hate it, hate it!!!!! I can't even pay my boys to do it.....
I enjoy grocery shopping....except if my kids or my hubby are with me. My grocery bill tends to skyrocket then.
for the two xmas's we have been 'out', wifey and i have celebrated christmas quietly with the grandkids and a few family.
although we have had a tree - somewhat hidden from view inside - we have not ever put a light or decoration outside.
this week i proposed to wifey that i light the large conifer in the back yard this season.
Go for it, ........The elders tried to call me on my lights inside my house, 'cept, I got away with it, as I have them on every day of the year anyways....they're pretty white lights, in my arbor, between the living and dining rooms. We do put up a tree every year also, and last year my hubby put lights outside on the porch.
Christmas is my favorite time of the year....
i am new here and have been "lurking" for several months.
the discussions have helped me tremendously to break free from the society.
i want to thank you all for your help and heartfelt posts.
WELCOME to the board.....don't be shy....
i've had the same avatar here for some time.
i've tried to change it, but overwhelmingly you guys seem to enjoy the evil little thing, so i always put it back.. so, here is my proposition:.
i will change my avatar at the end of today (well, my work day at least, 5pm cdt) and it will remain that for a period of at least a month.
LMAO@ Legolas.....
