Yes, I'm still the same old me....honest, and kind, and giving...loyal....I just don't subscribe to the JW bullshite anymore....that's the only thing that has changed.

PREACHING TO THE ANIMALS NOW....

apparently, there's nothing abnormal about preaching to animals if you need to get those hours in.
i'm still struggling whether or not this actually happened, or if it's just a wt legend:.

I hate it when they make me cry!!
by Scully ini thought i was pretty much immune to any jws being able to tug at my heartstrings anymore.. mr scully and i were out shopping this morning, when someone called my name and then grabbed me and gave me a big hug.
i hadn't seen her in over 15 years.
back then, she was a teenager and i was about 10 years older than her... but we hit it off really well and mr scully and i became really good friends with her and her parents.

My anniversary today - 1 year on the forum
by fullofdoubtnow init's one year today since i joined this board, as a more than a little nervous jw, i hadn't disassociated then.
this was a place i really needed to be at that time, as i certainly lived up to my alias when i first registered.
although i'm not in any doubt about the jws now of course.. i'm still very thankful that this place existed when i took those first faltering steps out of the watchtower, i'd still have left without it, but being here made it so much easier to leave, thanks to the kindness of the many wonderful people on here.

Defy Logic
by KW13 ini think other than real hard evidence, seeing an ex-jw actually getting on with their life must really scare a jw.
shouldn't we be upset, down and practically begging for a chance to get back into the proverbial ark?.
also when you do bring up hard evidence, there are times when you can tell by the expression of any dub change into either shock or anger before they re-arrange it and do their best to tear down said evidence.. i love to defy logic, i'm determined now to make a success of my life so i can (hopefully) get mum to see what really makes a good family and what really makes a person happy.

Good luck buddy. My parents can't understand why my family is so happy, and not all depressed, like they are. I'm hoping that very soon, I'll be able to tell my parents EXACTLY why we're so much happier now....but I'm not going to hold my breath that they'll listen and really get it.

a rank and file dub gets maybe 5 minutes mention in his or her own funeral talk and the rest of the talk is about their "marvelous hope" for the future. I understand the dynamics and politics at play here but I still can't believe that most dubs don't see the blatant hypocrisy taking place!
Yeah, what a freakin crock of crap that is! This is the reason why I do not want to attend my grammy's memorial service this Saturday at the local kingdumb hell. My mom wants me to go, to support her. I already said my goodbyes, Saturday morning, when she passed. She won't even be there, and I do not want to listen to someone eulogize my Grammy,( a woman they hardly knew, and did not visit in the nursing home), for 10 minutes, then preach religion for the next 45 minutes. Gag me!! Pisses me right off!!!
The dubs don't see the hypocrasy....my mom leaned in to whisper, "I'm so sorry mom, you weren't supposed to die before armaggeddon", yet in the next breath, she says, "You'll wake up in the new system and be young and"....blah, blah, blah. I couldn't believe my ears.

..Your still an Idiot..
by OUTLAW init is a long way to my ranch..i mean along way..i live hundreds and hundreds of miles from any large city..the only general store is a miles and miles and miles away..once you get to the area i live,you have to travel a wagon trail that was here in the 1800`s.you`ve got to travel that wagon trail for awhile.there are a few wagon trails that split off from the main one..it`s a whole lot of nothing in every direction..if you manage to chose the right wagon trail to my ranch you still have a way`s to travel.once you get to my ranch,it`s fenced off,the gate is closed and the huskeys guard the yard..your not getting in.....what do i see when i get to the ranch gate?..it looks like a letter,stuffed into a plastic bag..i get closer and it`s too big to be a letter,maybe it`s a wanted poster for outlaw..lol!
!..i finally get to the gate,pull the plastic bag from between the boards of the gate..it`s a 2 page pamphlet about as thick as 2ply toilet paper.it says:"the end of false religion is near!"..??
?..how the hell did a jw find thier way here?..were they lost?..did the dogs eat them?..lol!

LMAO, Outlaw, them witlesses prolly set up camp somewhere there, and had a big ol' campfire, roasted marshmally's and sang kingdumb songs, then slept til the light of day, and continued their journey to your ranch....that way, they can REALLY stretch the time and put in pioneer hours, LOL.....hey, ain't ya got rattlesnakes in them there parts 'o Canada???

Inactive/Faded JWs

when i move out (which i hope is soon), i'm planning to fade, but i am sure that my father (elder) will insist on knowing which cong.

Chameleon, I think one day, you just may have to tell your father the truth, about how you feel. With him being an elder and everything, he might try to keep on top of your spirituality, and hound you if you aren't going to meetings. That day is fast approaching for me, and I've been faded for over 8 years.
It is not going to be a pretty site, my parents are going to be VERY angry, and say some ridiculously stooooopid JW crap. I think, sometimes, it comes down to this for a lot us faders.
Stave him off, as best you can, for now, until you decide how to approach him. Best wishes to you.
