  i have been reading this board for about 4 years.

  after 38 years of being a baptized jehovah's witness, i did some research on the internet and found enough evidence to quit.

  that was 4 years ago and i am so much happier now.

  Sister-in-law attempts suicide

  my sister-in-law tried to take her life this afternoon.

  it still remains to be seen if she makes it through or not.

  though a witness, she's had many bad experiences in life.

  Gotta Love Holiday Weekends!

  it's victoria day today - most people have the day off work (yippee)!.

  went out for breakfast with a girlfriend.. took the dogs for a 5km hike, beautiful day for it, lots of people out on the trails.

  Since the last year, how long have you been without a computer or internet?

  i had no internet service for the last 36 hours, and it drove me nuts.. that made me realize how addicted most of us are to the internet.. so, in the last year, what's the longest you've been without going on the internet?.

  If you don't wise up, some "spiritualist" or "fortune teller" will con you for every penny you have in an attempt to rid you of imagined "ghosts". I've seen this happen to others and all you are doing is setting yourself up to be conned.

  Actually, Else, I've no interest in going to a fortune teller, or spiritualist....I'm not easily conned. I'm very skeptical, and try to reason things out logically. I've no interest in taking part in seances either. But you're right...there are those who will believe anything, and will be conned out of their money quite easily.

  Hey, these are Jehovah's "happy" people, they look forward to living forever in paradise, this world is only temporary, and yet.................. I've never met so many, un-happy people, who are in need of anti-depressants, and psychiatrist's visits, in my life. It's sad really.

  I was without a computer from November until this month........and let me tell you, I was frothing at the bit to get back on-line. Mary had to keep me updated....

  Now what would an elder do if a JW family had that problem at home ?

  Well, JH, the entire family would be asked to remember if they'd brought anything home, from a yard sale or such, and they'd be told to throw it outside, where they'd burn it, thus casting out the demons.

  Kool vids, Buttlight....the first one looked legit, however the rest look rigged. Some were blatantly obvious, others were "iffy"...

  Days that Go From Bad to Downright Embarassing

  so far this monday has been one nightmare after another.. it began with discovering that overnight my computer has wiped my harddrive - everything gone - photos, msn conversations, university assignments, diaries, letters, work docs, movies, videos, unmentionables.

  i feel like i have been erased!

  why - i have no idea?.

  Hi Crumpet.....I believe it's called, " Murphy's Law"....where anything that CAN go wrong, WILL go wrong.

  Chin up, ( no pun intended here) it does get better. I think we all have days like this, in order to keep us humble.

  I hope you are able to recover all your info on your PC.....that really sucks!! Tomorrow will be a better day love. Meantime, have a drink.....relax....and fuh-get-about-it.

  ps......every underwire bra I have ever bought, ALWAYS does this to me....and it's usually in public, the wire starts to sneak out, and there's no place to yank the damn thing out without being watched....and it pokes into your "sidewall", and hurts like hell....stupid things.
