I spoke to my JW mother...
by coolhandluke inwe had a disagreement a few months ago because she asked me to pay for her to come to see my brother graduate from his masters program.
whats the big deal with that?
she said that her conscience would allow her to come and give him support even though i was there.

he gave himself a haircut yesterday and the dreadlocks are no more.. it was a surprise that i came home to after work yesterday.

Have you changed your mind about ABORTION?
by nicolaou ini'm not after a discussion on the rights or wrongs on abortion, what i'm asking is whether or not your views have evolved over time.. perhaps leaving the watchtower was enough to allow your true feelings on abortion to find expression.
maybe abortion is one of those subjects where you still find yourself in agreement with your old jw self.
did becoming a mother change your perspective in any way or solidify your views?.

It doesn't matter what my opinion is, but I'll tell you one thing.
Last night, I saw a video about abortion........I sat in front of my computer screen, tears streaming down my face. That is something I'll never ever forget. They are alive....little tiny human beings....they are formed, little faces, little arms, legs, hands and feet; they bleed.
It was the single most disgusting video I've ever seen.
Every situation is different....but if everyone saw this video, I think many would change their minds.

I try to be as careful as I can, about saying things, as I do not like to intentionally hurt anyone.
However, it always seems that I open my mouth long enough to switch feet.
This day and age, it seems that everyone tends to be a little over-sensitive.....things that once were considered ok to say, are suddenly offensive, and "politically incorrect". I think we've become overly critical in some areas, and not enough in others.
Kinda like swallowing down the camel to spit out the gnat?!
I've come to realise, that it doesn't matter how hard one tries, you're going to pi$$ off somebody. I just do my best.
