do you?
by purplebunnyfoofoo in.
believe that gods name is jehovah?
do you still use it as his name?

Yes, I do believe God's name is Jehovah. Do I use it? Sometimes. What I find interesting, is the way my husband uses it when he says a blessing at dinner, sometimes. He REALLY dislikes the witnesses.

At the Society's headquarters, they are looking for fresh new workers to replace the old ones. Perhaps boys and girls could be sent to Bethel as young as 10 or 11, since they have been baptized for a few years. Then, the old ones of say, 28 or 29 could be sent home. After all, younger ones eat less food, don't need cars since they can' t drive, and are not hormonal yet. Remember, before child labor laws were in place in this country, young ones were prized. Nimble little fingers and all.
I'll bet they want the young ones at Bethel.....gag me. Do you honestly think these young ones want to be ripped from their families, to go and work, and live in such sterile, robotic atmospheres? Where they wouldn't see their parents for months at a time, or longer? It is not a life for any child, they need to play, not work. Thank God they have laws to protect our children.
When I was young, I personally knew a boy who was baptized at 9 years old. He had his youth taken away from him, because he had a lot of responsibility at too young of an age. He left the "truth" when he was in his 20's, because he couldn't handle it.

What Bothers You The Most About Jehovah's Witnesses?
by minimus infor me, i think it's their hypocrisy.
they lead (the vast majority) a double life.
and ultimately they look down on anyone not a jw yet they won't even wn up to it.

What bothers me most about JW's, is....the way they hypocritically live their lives, ratting out others, so as to take the spotlight off themselves. How they arrogantly proclaim to be God's chosen people, and the rest of the world is going to be destroyed at armageddon. Last but not least, how they judge everyone.
not all are like this, but the vast majority are. My parents included.

How many ex-jws move out of town to start over?
by rebel8 ini was wondering how common it is for ex-jws to relocate after leaving the borg in order to escape the bad memories of being in a cult, or to break contact with cult members.. i have wanted to move far away for as long as i can remember--even as a kid--for this purpose.
various life circumstances have delayed that--long story--but mr. rebel8 and i are thinking of moving within the next few years.
i am the one who's most interested in moving to a completely different type of place--different culture, different climate, different everything!

NOPE......this is my town, they will not chase me out. I stayed here, and it's been 8 years or so, since I faded. They won't bother with me though, and when I see them on the street, they quickly turn and run in the opposite direction.
.........don't know what I've done, I haven't sprouted horns and a tail, or anything....

Saturday morning books study & Field Service combined
by JH ini noticed recently that the book study i used to attend, used to be on a tuesdays or thursdays, but now it's on a saturday morning.. i notice that there are quite a few book studies on saturdays now.
i think that 2 out of the 4 books studies in my congregation are on saturdays.
is this a new way to get people to go out in the field service on saturdays?

Is this a new way to get people to go out in the Field Service on Saturdays?
JH, they've been doing this in my area for a few years now, and I do believe it is for this reason, as well as for those who cannot make it out during the week at night.

Would YOU kill someone if you felt they really deserved to die?
by gaiagirl incould be anyone, osama bin laden, oj simpson, pat robertson, someone who personally hurt you or your family, anyone at all.
would you pull the trigger, throw the switch, etc, which would end someones life?
would it make a difference if no one would ever know, versus everyone knowing?

Restrangled, that's some scary story. Do you still have that baseball bat? I'd be keeping it handy, just in case.
Yes, I'd kill, if someone was hurting, or threatening the lives of my family. Especially my children. Nobody, hurts my kids.
