  AN EXAMPLE OF HOW J.W.'S PLAY THE "GUILT CARD"

  the world plays the "race card".

  jw's play the "guilt card".. my wife gets up this morning, with great difficulty i might add, and starts getting ready to go to the meeting.

  that's fine with me, and i don't mind taking her.

  ((((((((((((Warlock))))))))))))) Doesn't it just frazzle your last nerve when they play that damned guilt card???? That's what finally did it for me....I was so tired of being made to feel GUILTY all the freaking time, about everything pertaining to the JW religion. I quit.

  My father has even said to me in the past, "your kids will die at armageddon", to which I retorted, " I don't believe God is as cruel as the JW's believe he is dad, and I'm not afraid anymore. I have NO GUILT" He's never said it since. However, it doesn't mean he won't try it again in the future...he seems to go on rampages every now and then.

  That's how the GB keeps the flock under control. The use of guilt, and fear. It's disgusting. I want no part of any god, or religion, who use fear and guilt to control people.

  Hang in there....you have many friends here, who know how you feel.

  Do You Miss Not Being With Your JW Family & Friends?

  personally, i keep very little contact with any of my witness family except my mom.

  i don't miss the conditional friends or family, really.

  but i do know that many here are devastated by their being abandoned.

  To be quite honest, the friends I was closest with at the KH, have all left, with the exception of a few of the elderly ones who frequently ask about me, so I feel lucky there. I found out who my true friends were when I finally left, so the rest who I thought were friends, I don't miss at all. I have made some very good friends since leaving the "truth", and I still have contact with my parents and the rest of my family....just not as often, and sometimes I have to deal with their, "We just want you to come back to Jehovah..." comments.

  Got a phone call today I hope I never get again!

  my husband called me today - and right away i knew from the sound of his voice something was wrong.

  he didn't say much, just that he had an accident at work and was at the hospital, could i please come right away.

  thankfully he was not seriously physically hurt, but he was in shock and they had to give him some lorazepam to settle him down.

  I'm glad it's not serious too, Bumblebee.....I remember getting a call like that, after my husband started a new job. The truck he was driving caught fire, and he had to get it to the side of the road. By that time, the entire cab was filled with smoke and as soon as he got out, the truck was engulfed in flames, and he was rushed to hospital by ambulance. That was scary...we always go over in our minds how much different and worse it could have been, don't we?

  I'm glad you're hubby is ok.....take him home and pamper him...

  What Freedoms Do You Enjoy Now That You're Not A Witness?

  the watchtower scoffs at "apostates" because they want their "so-called freedom".

  not practicing this religion does give you a lot of freedom and normalcy.

  As I drove past the KH late one night, after 9pm, there were 3 vehicles parked, and I said to my husband, " Uh-oh....somebody's in trouble again." I sure don't miss the gossipy, trouble-making members of the congregation".....

  The other things I enjoy are, more family time, my kids get to play sports, all they like...we spend weekends as a family,going to the trailer, skate park, antiquing with my husband,etc., anything but going door-to-door talking to strangers who would rather let their dogs have a go at us.

  And every evening at home, with my family,helping with homework, or watching a program with the kids, not sitting in a KH listening to how we need to be doing more for Jehovah, we're not doing enough.....

  Way to go Merfi.....woot-woot!!!!

  Hi Sirona...I have read some books on Wicca, although not extensively, and I like the idea of being at peace and in unity with nature, and have wondered exactly what the significance of being woke up in the middle of the night, 2 winters in a row, from the hooting of an owl, just outside my bedroom window, really means. (Other than the fact he is looking for food in my driveway) LOL

  I do believe in the spirit world, that we are somehow connected, also that there is a difference between spirits, ghosts and demons, but I have no desire to speak with them, or see them. I have heard one call my name, once, and that freaked me out enough....My son has seen the face of an old man, in his bedroom, only once also, thank goodness....it really scared him too. And we have witnessed the phone in our hallway being smashed to the ground when we had friends over. That's the most violent it has ever gotten. Our friends packed up their baby and rushed out of here that night, never to come back.....

  We hear them in our house making noises, but we have become used to them, so I really don''t want to rock the boat and delve any deeper. This is plenty enough for me. But I will admit, I find witchcraft intriguing, and I respect those who practise it. Maybe it's because I don't fully understand things, so therefore I am still in fear, if you will, of opening doors that cannot be closed....kind of a left-over JW mentality thingy....I dunno.

  But I do find it interesting, and love to hear other people's experiences and stories. Do you have any ideas about this owl thing, Sirona?
