  the greatest thing that is holding this organisation is the lack of love.

  love bombing is not love and never will be, when it dawns on a person that the love is not genuine then there is no reason for them to continue.

  this is the society's nemisis and it is purely of their own making.

  Welcome, The_Borg......this is exactly why my husband quit going to meetings, only 2 years after he was baptized.

  He first saw this lack of love, the day he was baptized, when the elder who studied with him, would not make it to his baptism, as he had to keep his business open ....my parents weren't there either, and they wanted us to wait to be married until he was baptized!!

  It is truly a love-bombing for the newly interested ones, to get them hooked, then once they get dunked in the ceremonial baptismal pool, they are left on their own. The invitations cease....they become just another "number".

  Fading? What's up?

  i was a jw, finally saw my chance and wrote a letter to the elders saying how bad i am and how i don't want to meet to discuss it and to df me if you want.

  that was the end of it for me.

  my question is if you know you are "fading" you are already gone so why not make the leap?

  I stopped going.......that was 9 and a half years ago. I know what it's like to be df'd, twice over. Will not let them have that kind of power over me again.

  I have peace of mind, the elders know that I will not be going back, and they don't bother me.

  The only ones who pressure me from time to time, are my parents....but I can handle them.

  Just found out my dog has cancer

  two types of cancer in both her upper and lower jaws.

  melanoma in the top jaw, squamous cell carcinoma in the lower.

  both are bad cancers.

  cross your fingers for me

  as some of you know but others don't i have been suffering from nerve pain in my feet for the last 4 years.

  the pain has put me in a wheelchair and the medications have been less than promising.

  it helped destroy my second marriage and put me on disability.

  What is Your Scariest Experience in Life?

  i'd have to say mine was when i was at the wee age of 8.. my siblings and i were out swimming with some friends and their parents.

  what i remember mostly was that i got seperated very quickly from the rest of the group and drifted into the deeper end.

  i found it getting more and more difficult to swim with each passing second.

  The scariest time in my life......the first time was right after I'd given birth to my eldest son, he wasn't breathing properly, and they whisked him away. I didn't see him for 3 hours, until after they had finally stabilized him.

  The second time was when,( same son) , fell down the basement stairs, and he passed out. The paediatrician could not get him to wake up. I saw my son lying motionless on the gurney....I was sobbing and freaking out.

  Thankfully, he was able to wake my son up. He had suffered a major concussion and scared the doctor to death too.

  What Do You Do for Work / Career?

  i've been on the board for quite a while now and was wondering, what do my fellow jwdr's do for work, employment or career?

  me, i'm in probably one of the most hated careers in america right now.

  (not gonna tell you what it is either) but how about you, what do you do to earn a little coin?.

  I work in a nursing home, I am also a hairstylist, and I am a full time, "mom's taxi", home care slave, housekeeper, nurturing wife, chief cook and bottle washer, and best of all, a nanna of a beautiful 2 year old boy.

  ......and I love me some good scotch at the end of the day, as a nightcap...'specially in the fall and winter...
