Generally that statement is followd by "Maybe I'll give him the latest Watchtower and Awake", as if this is somehow of help. So a person loses a loved one. What would be helpful? Take their kids for an afternoon? Cook them dinner? Give them some financial support? NO!!! Give them 2 magazines with 32 pages of drivel and inane stupidity. Yes, now you can feel superior and feel like you have "helped" someone. UGH!

Is the belief in God just another part of that condition that we must believe in something larger than ourselves? Is that what started us from being different from the other mammals of the earth?

I have been in and around lawsuits for many years being in the medical profession so I don't really believe anyone's testimony since we don't know their true intentions.
The main thing I can say is that MJ didn't learn from all the other money shakedowns sleeping alone with boys in the past...he is guilty of POOR JUDGEMENT for sure.
Why he simply wouldn't have one of his bodygaurds or whatnot always present if it was "harmless fun" seems like an easy fix.
This is my GUESS only! He will be found guilty and after some soul searching MJ will reveal he was sexually abused as a child..... tune in tomorrow. -

This seems to be a problem with all super repressive religions. The Catholic Church, Jo Ho's, Mormon, Islamics etc...
When give a HEALTHY view of sexuality people will develop as healthy, sexual, individuals. Not saying there will not be exceptions to the rule, but given my exposure to Buhddism, Taoism, Hinduism, and various Western Christian teachings I would say the more liberal, open and honest about sexuality the healthier the adult individual's sexual id.
It is my experience that sexual predators have under-developed sexual ideas of themselves. They are not homosexual or heterosexual but rather sexually stunted at a certain age mentally regarding sex. This relates to rape, beastiality, incest, pedophila, amonst other sexual deviant behavior. -

New Light on Higher Education
by seeitallclearlynow inmy son made a point to tell me that they had what was to him a very interesting, different talk on the service meeting this week.
the presiding overseer gave a talk on the society's changed view of getting a college education.. he used the scripture which admonishes the reader to "acquire a heart of wisdom" and applied it to getting a 4 year college education for the sake of being able to support oneself at double the rate of pay with one's degree upon graduation.
this of course is only for the purpose of being able to then pioneer, only having to work a few days a week, thereby having the time for the field ministry.. such an annoying change - finally!

I'm going to Bethel... Wanna Come?
by RichieRich inso my mother suprised me about a week ago by telling me we are going on a bus trip to bethel from april 13-17. for those of you who aren't used to this concept, american dubs seem to think that packing themselves on the bus with 60 other witnesses and driving for 4 days is somehow going to strengthen themselves spiritually.
well, i doubt that will work for me.
i was just wondering, is there anything i should look for/ be on the alert for?

The 1st time I went to Bethel we went walking around Manhattan and Brooklyn at night. Saw prosititutes, transvestites, and crazy homeless people. Ate at Carnigie Deli, Juniors, and a few other places. The next day at Bethel about wanted to fall asleep w/ the boring ass drones working. Oh, yeah and they had liver for dinner in the cafeteria...ick!

From the candid shots I've seen of them they seem very happy together. Good for them! God know the Charles / Diana marriage was a loveless prison sentance for BOTH of them.
