  Yes, I'm trying to scam everyone out of their money. I'm really a spy for the WTBS. I've been secretly asking for everyone's phone numbers and addresses so a JC can be formed. But 6of9 you had your say. If you were really trying to be an "upstanding" guy wouldn't you have PM'd me to air your beef? From what I understand you had an entire thread dedicated to it....so please stay on topic in this thread.
  
  People use this forum for many things. Some use it as a literary posting boards. Others use it for casual conversation. And yet others use it to build online friendships. If you don't like what a poster writes refute it. If you don't like a thread, don't read it. Everyone comes to JWD for multiple reasons. They may be diametrically opposed to yours. Doesen't make either party right or wrong. Just different.

  The most effective way of communicating is chosing words that your audience will understand. You don't talk quantum theory with high school choir students. Everyone here at JWD is smart in various areas. We have lawyers, doctors, scientists, salespeople, historians, etc. Each has a strong suit for a certain aspect of his/her life. When talking about other things they may be as clueless as the rest of us. Reading H/S and Alan F's posts regarding chronology is "complex" in my opinion yet easy for many others to understand.
  
  Just because a person is smart in one area, makes him no genius. Just a specialized talented person.

  Faith and blind faith are two seperate things. How much more do you need to be shown that IT IS A LIE? See if the society will allow you to have "faith" enough to disagree with the chronology while still staying a good Dub?

  Gays and the Bible.

  first of all.....i ain't bashin gays here......just have a question.. this morning i read in the paper that the united church of christ has unanimously approved of same sex marriage.

  this now is the largest protestant sect who has approved of gay marriages.. my question is.......how does religion justify a way of life the bible condems as sinful?

  what is their scriptural argument to justify this action as proper?.

  People used to use the bible to demonize black people. As we've become more tolerant society has only gotten to be a better place to live for both whites and blacks. The same will hold true for gays / str8's. Flavor is the spice of life. Who wants to be all alike anyway?

  have we reached the saturation point?

  are there any new topics on life and death, evolution, creation, god etc., or are we just recycling these kind of topics?

  i know that as each new person comes aboard, they may ask the same questions on topics that have been talked about here over and over and that's very much needed for them.

  The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928)

  this is one of the best movies i've ever seen as an allegory for being a jw, it's silent and all about the trial of joan of arc.

  i know it sounds silly, but i'm mainly talking about the arrogance of the priests and judges, speaking for god, etc., messing with her mind.

  it so reminds me of your averege commitee meeting.

  It's those elders that KNOW they are doing the right thing. Or PURGING the congo to stay clean. Or MARKING a weak one from the stage with the #4 Innuendo talk. Those are the ones that are truly the most destable. However, I also bet they are the most unhappy, self loathing people as well. They need to cut every other person down to stay on top of the heap. Sad.
