I think qustioning others going in field service or any other portion of Witchtowerism while fading or leaving to be too judgemental and simplistic. It's easy to look back or look at someone else's positon and tell them what SHOULD be done.
Most of us didn't simply wake up one morning thinking that the WTBS was bunk. It was a slow and methodical realization. It's just like at our jobs. There are plenty of things we don't like or agree with. But guess what we HAVE to do them to get our paycheck. It's not our fault that the WTBS doesn't simply allow you to say "I don't agree with this anymore" and walk away. They try and cull you from your friends and family. That's a big thing to lose for most of us. No one should race into a decision like that. Thoughtful, careful, reasoning is in order.
IP-Sec recently just DA'd himself. He had posted about 6 weeks before he left that he still gave some talks and whatnot. He got jumped on by the board for being dishonest. No....he was and elder trying to figure out how to leave on his terms. So I don't feel he nor anyone else in a similar situation is being duplicitous. The WTBS forces us in that mold at least for a time being.
Put the blame where it belongs! On the WTBS.

Proselytizing for the Borg
by Sith ini recently read a post written by a female jw who was obviously disenchanted with the wtbts.
she wrote about how she had been out in the door to door work recently because she had no excuse not to go, and how she had placed some magazines with a "householder".
it made me think about how just one small thing like placing wt literature with an innocent unknowing individual might eventually lead them into the watchtower trap.

How many of you are childfree by choice?
by rebel8 inby that, i mean you do not want to have children.. i have been told since birth it would not be safe for me to have children, so i never even considered it.
i never went through a grieving period because the concept of having babies was not something i once had and lost.
i always envisioned myself as a happy career woman.. i recently married and am still sure i don't want children.

The autopsy found no evidence to support her family's accusations that she suffered broken bones or other injuries as a result of abuse, and also cast doubt on allegations that an eating disorder contributed to her 1990 collapse.
The extensive examination of Schiavo's body found that her brain weighed only about half of what a healthy human brain would, Pinellas County medical examiner Jon Thogmartin, said at a news conference.
"Her brain was profoundly atrophied," he said. "This damage was irreversible."
The autopsy found that her brain was so severely damaged that no amount of therapy would have helped to regenerate it. Schiavo's parents had repeatedly said their daughter was responsive to them and could have been helped with therapy.
"She would not have been able to form any cognitive thought," said Dr. Stephen Nelson, a forensic pathologist who assisted in the autopsy. "There was a massive loss of brain tissue."
The autopsy also found no evidence to support allegations that Schiavo had been given poison by her husband or that she had been mysteriously injected with something during or after a visit by her parents to the hospice where she was being cared for.
"No drugs or other substances given to Mrs. Schiavo caused her to die or accelerated the dying process," he said. -

144001.....stamps foot....here...here.
Having a child is no one's business. It's probably the most thought about decision anyone makes. Even if it's a "whoops" the decision to have it vs. aborting or putting it up for adoption are very serious, sober decisions. Commenting on other's choices is a bit like commenting on their sexual preference. Nobody's biz.
As far as Dr. Laura.... She is just a quack with a knack, a physiologist with the glib analysis that always leaves her callers thinking that they’d be fine, if only they were as smart as she is. As you can tell I think highly of her. LOL -

You forgot the 10% of hypochondriacs at the KH. Of course these folks don't go to "real" doctors. They have every medical condition under the sun and an "alternative" cure. Cause doctors don't know squat. Doctors will either try and give you a blood transfusion or just tell you it's all in your head. Witchdoctors! But hey they'll spend $ 322 a month on herbs and supplements. Morons!
