insert any racist thought or saying you have ever heard after "worldly people are...".. i say this because earlier this morning i was thinking about things i have heard from my parents, extended family, and so-called friends about how evil or nasty worldy people are and if you think about it you can insert "worldly people" into any racist phrase and it would sound like something a jw would say.. i called that religious bigotry.. josie

I remember when my oldest child was about 4 or 5 - I don't even remember what we were talking about, but anyway he said people who weren't JW's were "Satan worshipers". While I was horrified, I remember the book study conductor was gleeful ! I immediately sat him down and straightened him out - I could never abide by the holier-than-I attitude that many witnesses have.

some of these people started disparaging our beliefs..they were really apostates..deliberately tried to undermine the morals.

Blondie - I also remember sitting at the hall listening to a talk about the dangers of the computer as a whole. One brother/sister (whatever) went on to say how "demons" and viruses could actually enter your home through the computer, whether it was turned off or on! No one bothered to correct or contradict them!

they are talking about moving it to miami.
i had been to new orleans a few times and was familar with it, but i don't know a thing about miami.

they are talking about moving it to miami.
i had been to new orleans a few times and was familar with it, but i don't know a thing about miami.

Here is a Mapquest map of the area - you will notice, of course, that you are near the beach - beach and teenagers usually go well together, are not expensive and can pass away a lot of time. Just north of you is the American Airlines Arena and the Miami Arena - both of these venues have shows, sports events, etc. Once you come down, or before if you wanna check ticketmaster, you can see what's going on there. Miami always has something going on, especially on the weekends. When you get down here, grab a newspaper and you'll find all kinds of free things happening at parks, etc. Calle Oche is famous for their Cuban activities, etc.
With just a little research, you can have a blast.

Excellent post!
I think the general concensus today in the organization is this:
- You CAN go to college if you like
- You SHOULDN'T go away to college or stay on campus
- Your goal should be to get the degree necessary to get the job needed to support yourself for your true career as PIONEER
P.S. My husband graduated high school at 16, with a full scholarship to MIT - his father wouldn't let him go! He's never forgiven him! My eldest just started his first year and is living on campus! We couldn't be prouder!
