Alana -
Here is a Mapquest map of the area - you will notice, of course, that you are near the beach - beach and teenagers usually go well together, are not expensive and can pass away a lot of time. Just north of you is the American Airlines Arena and the Miami Arena - both of these venues have shows, sports events, etc. Once you come down, or before if you wanna check ticketmaster, you can see what's going on there. Miami always has something going on, especially on the weekends. When you get down here, grab a newspaper and you'll find all kinds of free things happening at parks, etc. Calle Oche is famous for their Cuban activities, etc.
With just a little research, you can have a blast.

Gary, Gary, Gary, that's not nice - the snow birds are coming, the snow birds are coming! You'll have plenty to prey on soon! Lets leave the fellow JWD members alone - and give her the password!
Sorry folks, all these hurricane's have the natives restless!

Excellent post!
I think the general concensus today in the organization is this:
- You CAN go to college if you like
- You SHOULDN'T go away to college or stay on campus
- Your goal should be to get the degree necessary to get the job needed to support yourself for your true career as PIONEER
P.S. My husband graduated high school at 16, with a full scholarship to MIT - his father wouldn't let him go! He's never forgiven him! My eldest just started his first year and is living on campus! We couldn't be prouder!

AN E-MAIL I GOT from an anonymous Jehovah's Witness who read my story
by Terry inon randy's freeminds site my personal story: my life in jehovah's service appears.
it is sad that you publish information on jehovah's witnesses.. you even title it, my life in jehovah's service.. but you know nothing about what it means to be one of jehovah's witnesses.. .
so you should get your information from people, like me, who know.

ROTFLMAO!
This reminded me of when I was a kid. I was told it was important to know the name of the President of the Society because that would be used as a code-word during the Great Tribulation! LOL
Now, along with learning all 66 books of the bible in order, you too can teach your children the names of the members of the GB! I wonder if the captions on the page give any inside info about them, the men? Where they were born, how long they've been in, etc? Probably not.
Absolutely ridiculous!

Do you see the average Jehovahs Witness as a victim...?
by trevor ini think most of us appreciate the difference between the tyrannical watchtower society and the average sheep like followers who make up the congregations.
we have been jehovahs witnesses so we know how brainwashed they are.
i am interested in knowing how you feel towards jehovahs witnesses individually and whether you hold them accountable.

Hmm, interesting thoughts.
I don't think I think of the individual witness as a victim - victim to me portrays "one who is hurt." I see them more as weak-minded and ignorant.
It isn't that JWs don't know that there is criticism against the organization; they do. It's that we are constantly warned to ignore the outcries. I was guilty of it myself. I had a knee-jerk reflex regarding any criticism - it was to be dismissed, immediately, without consideration.
You have to be strong enough to make the CHOICE to listen; open-minded enough to HEAR what you don't want to believe and WISE enough to see the real truth - thereby ending your ignorance.

Another "New Light" or changing their damned story again about reserection
by crinklestein incan anyone confirm if their doctrin of the reserection has been changed?
a witness idiot i know has been trying to preach to me online trying to convert me.
he has stability issues himself with flip flopping back and forth between the "world" and the "truth".

All Along: It almost seems to me that the 'worldly' people are better off if you don't witness to them, that way they are just hapless unbelievers and are eligible for ressurection. Whereas if they become witnesses, they could f*ck up, get DF'ed, and end up eligible for SQUAT! Am I reading this right, or am I missing something important via my non-witness lack of knowledge?
YOU GOT IT! You're absolutely right - as a "worldly person" the worst thing you can do is be informed - because ignorance is bliss! Or in this case, ignorance is resurrection!

Yes, I do. And unlike others, I am grateful for the WBTS for helping create the me I am today. Left on my own devices, I believe I would have followed the examples of those around me - specifically, underage drinking, smoking, sexual activity, lack of focus or concern for the future. These are not stereotypes, but the reality of my family and neighborhood!
I accept that I am NOT the average exJW - I feel deceived and lied to - but I do not regret who I am (or what I was). I accept that when I believed, I believed (although I always had doubts). And I always believed that a person should have the right to decide NOT to believe. I always believed and challenged others to show me the Truth. When I saw the "truth" about the "Truth." I did what I always said I would - I changed my beliefs.
My beliefs, however, didn't change the person I am. I am who I always was ... friendly, outgoing, flirtatious, sexy, warm, loving, honest, committed to my family, helpful to my community, funny and loyal. (I have other qualities too, but who wants to talk about the bad stuff ! )
