  I've just become a father

  i have been married for 10 years and have two wonderful step kids, 15 and 21. being a jw i did not want a child as life seemed so pointless.

  things changed for the better since leaving and i am now the proud father of a big baby boy zac - 9pounds (4.1kg), 52cm long and huge lungs.

  my wife is filipino so the baby looks very asian at the moment.

  I feel like a deustch. GF and I broke up....

  so as many of us have experienced over the years since being out, out past can certainly play a role and often does in our present lives.

  my past has crept into my relationship, and as my gf did not feel equipped to handle and/or talk about any of it, this was a large factor in what led to our breakup this weekend.

  i've felt like i'm going to puke since about 4 a.m. saturday.

  Hmmm.

  as much as I empathize and understand how hard that must be for someone who's never really had to endure something like that to hear about it, I still need my partner in life to be ok with listening to me and hearing me talk about it.

  That's fine; it is perfectly fair to expect support during the down times. Who is to know how bad the bad times really are though, except her? You might behave worse than you think. Then again, she might just not be very tolerant. If it's something that broke you up, that should tell you both a lot.

  some thoughts spinning through my head .... what does it mean to be an atheist?

  it means you cannot imagine your homosexual neighbor being slaughtered by a loving god at judgment's day, it means you don't consider the primitive tribe described in numbers 31 that slew midianite men and raped innocent virgins to be god's first covenant people, it means you don't believe mankind is so perverted that it is in need of salvation through a man who came 'not with peace, but with a sword', it means you have high moral values that apply not only to the members of your denomination but to all men.. h. .

  Accessibility to guns to blame for violence?

  with all the talk about the increased violence in schools and among society, it still surprises me that the accessibility to guns argument often tends to trump the cultural argument.. maybe i'm out of touch but showing saw iii uncut on hbo at 10pm and releasing the most violent video games in history and the marketing of violent and perverse music, these are the things to me that desensitises young people first and then may trigger some hurt and unstable kids long before they go and buy a gun.. okay, ready to be blasted (pardon the pun)!.

  I'm thinking that it's time that every publisher gets issued with a number and a barcode. It would make their accounting SO much easier.

  you know i never been happier, got the best relationship i ever had, living life free............. but you know there is still the old nagging in the back of my mind.

  i miss my jw days, and i don't think i'll ever escape them.

  guess it's just a part of me.....

  Hmmm, yes I remember being So Sure about The Answers To Life, but I don't miss that feeling because it was a delusion and it made a huge fool of me. I had some fun times with a large social network, but don't miss them because it didn't take long to realise exactly how little like friends they actually are. I thought that I had a close, loving family, but long before I was out, they'd pretty much let me go anyway and I hadn't been able to count on them for any kind of support for years. The meetings were, well, you know. I had hated going out on the preach all of my life. No, I don't miss anything from that life. I'm still hurt by the rejection and probably always will be, but I'm so glad it's all behind me now.

  How can you miss the accolades? It was the praise and respect of small-minded delusionals. What's the big deal about that?

  JW Ex-Wife taking daughter out of school for holidays

  when growing up, i don't remember being taken out of school for much, but my ex-wife takes my daughter out for so many holidays.

  i just found out that she took her out thursday and friday for valentines day.

  is this even legal?

  'Holidays' don't happen here. We were only ever humiliated by sitting out of ANZAC day events and the easter bonnet parade.

  Give her play money on non-holidays. She'll notice the difference.

  i decided to dissocaite myself four years ago.

  i actually emailed an author that wrote a book about her experience as jw and why she left.
