*Almost* the last time I went out on the preach... we were doing rural territory, and I had to pee. We decided the best answer was to go in the bush on the property we'd just come out of. I walked in, didn't feel invisible enough, so kept walking. Finally found a spot I was happy with, did my thing, turned around and realised I was right in front of the house I'd just failed to place magazines at; I just hadn't seen it because of one lousy branch.

by flipper inmany of us i'm sure experienced embarrassing or comical moments as a witness.

men kept for unnatural purposes?
by gotime insomewhere in the new testament it lists grave sins that would prevent one from inheriting the kingdom.
"men kept for unnatural purposes" is listed.
are we talking prostitutes?

It's talking about men who willingly maintain the pool area. Nobody is allowed to keep a pool guy. We all know what that leads to.

When Disassociating
by str8?so is spaghetti..until you heat it up insomeone had started a thread about a comment their mother made - "i would rather my children be dead then disfellowshipped" and it reminded me of a comment my father made when i disassociated myself:.
"...don't disassociate yourself - simply don't go to meetings or go out witnessing...it will make it so much easier for you to come back..".
it disturbs me on two levels:.

Hi mate. I think that you're still reeling from what happened to you after disassociating. l've had similar stuff said by my parents (again; totally different situation, but you'll get it...)
I was dfd for prenuptially shagging my husband-to-be. One of my brothers is a baby elder, and his main problem is that I didn't just wait and walk away quietly. This would have made it easier you see; they wouldn't have to treat me terribly, and the non-JW family wouldn't know that they're brutally manipulative, and have it confirmed that they're all pretty much crazy. It's embarassing to them. They wish that I'd spared them that.
This stuff fades after a while; apparently to almost nothing. Hang in there.

How do you confront someone abusing their daughter?
by Paralipomenon inseeing how child abuse has affected many people here, i am hoping for some advice.
we have friends of our family that have it on good authority that a father is abusing his four year old daughter.
he's always seemed rather creepy to me, which is a bit of the problem.

I hope that you have already contacted child services and asked them for their help.

After Kingdom Hall bomb blast = Twisted Witness logic! Saved by Jah!
by Witness 007 inin sydney in the late 80's a bomb blew up the kingdom hall killing one man and injuring many.
the hall was badly destroyed.
later stories spread about how jehovah "saved" the congregation.. 1. the brother who died was large and sat in front saving many lives by taking the full impact.

The gossip has always been that the bomber was the husband of a woman in the hall, but there was never enough evidence against him. That's just the gossip. For the most part, the talk has always been: "Hooray, persecution: Armageddon must be close!"

My JW Wife....an evil twin has emerged
by oompa ini have let my wife know many times that it is me that has changed not her...and i know it has been very hard on her and not really fair.
but now on the rare occasion i mention something like why the hey would god ever let these earthquakes occur, and what in the heck does that have to do with universal sovereignty, and what an unbalance puishment thousands of years of death is for two people eating a fruit.....she will stand....pace....sound defiant...more like a drill instructor than a wife or dub...and just rattles off the indoctrinazation....scary..i could feel the icepick through my ribs.....this is a new development...and i wonder if the elders are "strengthening" her.
btw....god kills them in earthquakes so they will know they should be serving him???

I have a few currently JW friends on Facebook, and don't want to risk their friendship by being in that group.
Tip for Facebook noobs: falsify your date of birth and hometown. Maybe even misspell your name slightly. You can restrict who reads your profile, but the author of any application that you add has access to all of your information.

JW relatives....ughh
by milligal ini'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this (sorry it's kind of long): both my husband and i are df'd.
both our families are active witnesses.
his family has decided to shun us 150% (you know what i mean, no phone calls even when you're dying).

My situation isn't very similar, but I can relate to the frustration of not knowing what to do about this kind of injustice. I can't stand it when my JW relatives whitewash the situation to the non-JWs. I have pretty much accepted that I've lost them all, and have taken the stance of being a solid concrete wall. I don't even hear it, don't respond to anything, and don't ever take the bait. They have slowly given up. I just completely ignore the elephant in the room.
