More Evidence that Jehovah Is a Tyrant
by WTWizard ini have observed that jehovah god is far from the loving father he portrays himself to be.
stifling my sex drive, and then exploiting it by using it to get me into a cult, hardly qualifies god as being loving.
and neither does continuing to stifle the sex drive after i am trying to leave the cult and quite likely using the hounders to reclaim me as their slave.. i found another web site that any theist should urgently look up before looking into any religion, whether jehovah's witnesses or any other "christian" or islam religion.

JW wife says she loves me more often NOW???? Should I test that?
by oompa ini was pm with a@g and have with others here in the one-in-one-out marriage situation, and have a question.
time flies.....i have been considered apostate for at least two years now, and it seems my wife says she loves me all the time....almost makes me uncomfortable.
i have changed, not her, and i realize that.

Wording it this way:
IF you really love me...
... sounds like a teenage boy trying to convince his girlfriend of three weeks to, well whatever. How about:
"I have noticed that you are talking about love a lot more often now, and I really appreciate it, but I'm concerned that on some level it's only because you're afraid. That's ok, because I am too. I'm afraid that you will never agree to talk about this and examine this with me...."
Edit:
Okay, I've just read the thread and discovered that I'm a couple of days behind. Sorry bro. Keep it together...

DC Seating
by RR inokay, how many of you got to the convention site nice and early so that you could get the best seats on the house?.
having met in yankees stadium (difficult for me as i'm a mets fan) i always made sure i was in the shade.
hey someone had to come in early and make those watchtower hoagies (by the way, i never washed my hands).

This big ridiculous thing seemed to happen at everybodys DC! For my young years our DCs were at a horrid racetrack and that stuff happened a lot, because you could only see the stage from about a quarter of the seating. Finally we moved to a nice new stadium where the only real difference between the seats was the height, so there wasn't really anything worth fighting over. One year though they decided to close off a very large section of the seating so we wouldn't have to clean it afterwards, and that made the rest of the auditorium horribly overcrowded. The only really good thing about that stadium is that there is no special box seating or areas that can be declared the exclusive domain of all the mini princes and their tedious wives. The dome they now use in Sydney is great for conventions but has a few special floors that of course all of the oinkers like to strut around on. I know the guy who has had to guard the gate to the special floor for a few years, and sheez, the stuff he has to deal with.
If I was a godzillionaire I'd buy a permanent box at the Sydney domes and put an enormous banner in the windows during the conventions that says to tens of thousands of people, for three days in a row: "Parents, guard your children today. My abuser was an elder, and he's here." I'd pay a guy to stand in the room all day just watching the teev and not letting any bethel heavies take the sign down.

How do you handle ... being shunned?
by Awakened at Gilead inmy da announcement was last tuesday, so i have been on the official jw shun list for about a week now.... i am curious how you handle shunning.my situation:.
i have spoken with my family (my parents and 1 brother) and discussed whether they will shun me.
i explained that biblically they should not shun me since i am not an antichrist, and i have not rejected the teaching that jesus cam in the flesh.

I don't think that you're talking about what to 'do', more how to handle what they do, right? Because as far as I know, none of us are doing the shunning. In the long term I have taken the view that I am not likely to see any of them again, so I'm erasing them from my memory and rebuilding the story of my personal history without them in it. This is fun anytime somebody decides to get in touch again, because it fills a big gap in the memory. But I generally don't restart a relationship with them; it's hard to trust them again after being treated that way, and I kind of can't be bothered.
I didn't ever have the 'last conversation' with them, I think think they're of the impression that I will try to get reinstated eventually, I'm just too lazy or stubborn to right now. I don't actually care what they think, because of the way they treat my beloved husband and I. I haven't missed them for a long time, I'm just not over the trauma yet.

My Story - Part 2
by Jeremy C inlike many jw children, i was deeply influenced and motivated by watchtower society artwork depicting the new system of things.
i was profoundly influenced by artwork (particularly in the book: you can live forever in paradise on earth) that portrayed children petting tigers, playing with lion cubs, running through grassy fields with kites, and enjoying care-free lives.
what i now realized about myself is that for a jw to desire such things; and to go through the motions - performing organizationally-programmed activity in order to receive this reward; does not necessarily require a love for god or christ that is any deeper than other religionists.

i thought that my personal story might be of interest.
it is my hope that some of my experiences and observations might be of help to some of you who have recently left the organization.
