I think what I resented the most was that the guys could faff about during the meetings with mikes and checking the carpark, and we had to sit still and listen to the boring things.

yeah, a woman can run for the second highest position the world has to offer (i guess) but can't even give a talk that a 10-year old snotty-nosed kid can do at the f-n kh.
this used to annoy me no end at the hall... there were these morons doing the bible reading or what have you and they couldn't even pronounce the words.

At work. I didn't notice him as I was boyfriended, and he was just about to divorce. A couple of years later we became friends but I left the city partly because I didn't know how to tell him that I wasn't that into him. But we stayed in touch and he became the one person I respected and knew I could trust. Eventually I realised that I loved him too!

Mrs.Chickennest has cancer
by Thechickennest inmy wife and i learned this week that she is suffering from a large malignant tumor in her sinuses.
the cancer has spread to her lymth nodes and the pet scan indicates a mass on her left lung as well.
the sinus cancer is called sinonasal undifferentiated carcinoma.

I lost the right to raise my JW kid........
by oompa inactually he is hardly a kid anymore.....and is in bethel dammit!..........but why is it that when i was a good jw account servant i could guide, influence, direct him... totally... in all religious matters......which of course is why he believes what he believes and is at bethel (damm i was good huh!
) but now that i am faded and a vocal apostate (not dfd but called apostate behind my back) i am supposed to shut up and not share any of my new found real truths with him?.
my ex-wife hardass jw just gave me grief for this, my hardass current jw wife just gave me grief for this, my elder/dad gave me grief for this....and even my bethel son gave me grief for this....ya know i think jesus said you should not put your bright light under a basket!....but they all tell me to.

I think the magazine side of things suffered more from the "no charge" system. Because many publishers didn't put any money in the KH box until they had actually placed them.
I'm glad to hear that from a literature guy. Not that I was big on placements, but I didn't ever once, *ever* receive a donation for a placement, so there's no way I was paying for them myself, in fact it was about then that I stopped going out on the preach and when I moved congregations I ordered only one of each mag for myself. The literature guy told me to at least 'be confident' and order two of each so I have something to try to offer, but he didn't twist my arm.

Little by little, hubby is doing less and less as a JW...
by cognac infirst he dropped studing, then it was field service... now he has asked me if i feel like going to the meeting tonight because he doesn't really want to and so we are staying home.
this is the 2nd time this week he has done that.
his best friend got demoted from his ms position and got privately reproved.

and the burden is to be raised and live for 33 years in the most mind destructive cult the watchtower.

I definitely agree with Finally Free; nobody should be treated that way in their own house. Make it clear that you will not tolerate it anymore - if she has friends over, you don't care what it means to them, you're going to be there because it's your house. If that makes them leave, you don't want them there anyway.

I brought up his depression because I'm over mine and I know why; he was unrealistic about his own and I wanted to make as big a deal as I could about happiness vs being a witness. I wouldn't try to engage any witness in conversation about anything like this, but I think that as I only get this one last chance to get a message through to them, I want it to be something that might stick in their mind. That email had a few things that would be stunning to a witness, the idea being that if you throw enough hammers one might hit. Probably not, but at least I gave it a go.
