Emma Gough, this message is for your family and friends.
One day, before your ignorance kills somebody else in the family, you should wake up to yourselves.

Continued Relationships with xJW's
by Drzhivago123 ini've enjoyed reading through many of the topics on this site, as i can relate to many of you.
when i stumbled on this site i thought it was an active jw forum, but i was pleasantly surprised.
i was born and raised as a witness, but luckily wised up when i was in my late teens.

Hi and welcome.
I have retained three or four old friends. Two of them are still kind of stuck there in their head, so it's difficult to have a conversation without me accidentally running into material that scares them off crying.
My parents have decided to stay in touch, but I'll never see my siblings again.

Why are we telling Iran they can't have nukes?
by mavie inwatching the democratic debates i was struck how every candidate, save dennis kucinich, pledged to prevent iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.
iran is a sovereign state, diplomacy which ends in 'you can't have this, but we can' will not work.
what would happen if another country told us we couldn't have nukes?

HOmer Simpson:
"'Nuke-u-lar'. It's pronounced 'nuke-u-lar'."

For the ladies. Do you think that when you.....
by NotaNess indress to impress, get all slathered up and have your little or lots of flesh showing, depending on your blouse, skirt, pants or shorts....that people(men) are not supposed to stare at you?.
seriously, if your at home in your closet deciding which outfit you're gonna wear to work, school or out to play, and thinking how you'll look more attractive in this or that....do you not know that guys are gonna stare at you?
but you see these females on occasion that will get all in an uproar when some guy is staring at them....but hello...didn't you choose with pin-point accuracy, the exact top that's gonna reveal your cleavage at it's fullest?????

I have to agree.
... oh no, sorry, not that she's a head case needing help. But she's kidding herself if she thinks she can flash the world and think they'll respect her enough not to look. That said, yes it sucks that there are maggots out there who harass any woman, so; more power to the lady who gets harassed no matter what she wears. Your employer should be taking better care of you so that you don't have to put up with that.

Saw a babelet recently who was wearing a tight red low-cut t-shirt that had in print across her Chest Region the words 'My Eyes Are Up There' with an arrow in the appropriate direction. I can't actually imagine any hetero male within 100m of her not looking at her breasts that day.

by JH inon a scale from 1 to 10, to what degree did they screw up your life ?
let it be the watchtower or the jw's... 10 is the maximum.

JH: get him to write down everything he says he's not going to do and why. Show him what he wrote one day.

About a 5, and not irretrievably.
Please remember that you can only blame the organisation for stuff that happened to you up until just after you left it. Everything you do since you have to take personal responsibility for. Don't waste too many years resenting the wasted years.

First job interview I ever did: proudly announced that I'm a JW (because 'everybody knows how honest and hard-working JWs are'). So that dive-bombed. I'm putting that on the list of 1000 Things It Took To Get Me Out.
Ove the years I would mention it less and less. Opportunities would come up to talk about them and I wouldn't take them. Eventually, I was using the word 'they' when talking to outsiders about JWs, as if I wasn't one any more.
