i've never officially dedicated myself to jehovah, but i was brought up in the truth, very strong, and at times when getting older, there were lulls in my attendance... yet to this day i still attend.

Just one comment, I am very curious about something. You feel very strongly about the love of the brotherhood in Jehovah's organization. Stop going to meetings for a few months and see if anyone notices or bothers to call you; more than likely, they will 'mark' you as bad association instead of trying to help you back to the meetings.
i think as the prices of gas, health care, housing and other things continue to rise, the jw without a great education will struggle to put much in the contribution box.
it got me to thinking, how much did my family put in the contribution box at the kingdom hall.
this is what i estimate for the final 5 years i went 1994-1999.... $10.00 per week for about 5 years.
I didn't give much monetarily, but they owned my soul and mind that's for sure.

Saki2fifty--welcome to the board! I have not had a chance to read through this whole thing but wanted to let you know that I would not put another person down for what they believe. If being a JW makes you happy, then more power to you. I myself do believe that the JW organization is a lying, deceitful, unChristian organization--but that's my opinion and everyone has one. Wish you much luck in your spiritual journey and where it may lead you.

i am a totally different person around my mothers side of the family.

so i looked up the offical explanation of the wts in the bible teach book chapter 11 paragraph 12 says: let us consider an illustration.
Sometimes it feels like we humans are just a laboratory experiment in a great big laboratory in the sky with God being Dr. Frankenstein.
in a recent discussion with a couple of district overseers and other heavies , the topic of the internet and apostate sites came up.
i asked what impact these were making , numerically , among jws.
the prevailing view was that , numerically , there was negligible impact.
"I rememebr not that many years ago when in a pioneeer meeting the Elders leading the discussion encouraged us to shield our students from apostates by checking out the two "apostate" books (CoC and 40 Yr WT slave) from the local library and losing them."

i ask this question because saki said this in another topic:and i would assume that a lot of people on this board left due to this board alone "proving" the lies of the wts.
so, it this true or false?

I left for good in 1992 because I was so miserable, tired of feeling guilty because I was never good enough or did enough, and tired of feeling left out of social circles because I didn't have a dad for an elder or a husband who was a JW, and because being reinstated meant that people treated me differently than before I was disfellowshipped.
I didn't find this site until 2005 and have really had my eyes opened to all the scandals and hypocrisy and evilness that exists in the Watchtower Society, and how their whole belief system is tied to isolation from family and friends who are not JWs.

I really am struggling with my belief system. I can't stand to see people or animals suffering or in pain. I try not to watch the news every day because to see all the suffering, like what it's like for civilians who live in the Middle East under constant war is heartbreaking.
I really wish if there is an Almighty God up there, that people who are truly evil like terrorists/suicide bombers/child molesters would have an instant heart attack and not be filling up space.
i am really sad today and miss my cat already.
he would have been 16 in november.
i found him out on the street when he was a year old.
So sorry about your loss--pets are just another member of the family. I love my kitty cat, Baxter. But if anything should happen to him--I would run out and get another one because the house just isn't a home without a family pet. Hope your kids are feeling better soon--have you thought about getting them a pet that doesn't have fur or hair? Maybe a turtle or something like that?

i was out gallavanting around - buying one thing here another there and finally heading home.. the chair hit a bump and the front wheel broke off sending me flying with the chair landing on top of me.
personally i think it was a temper tantrum designed to let me know they were tired and wanted to ride me for a while.. i had just passed a man sitting on a bench waiting for the bus and he rushed right over to help.
