  what's the deal in the 'new system'?

  of course i wouldnt want to encourage speculation, but when i was involved in the jws there was sometimes talk of what would or wouldn't be in/acceptable in 'the new system'.

  i heard some happifying comments like there wont be any electric guitars or transport, and we wont be wearing clothes but we'll still have seasons

  El Kabong--LOL I used to love Gilligan's Island.

  I think I remember bad people would not disappear, but they would grow old and sick and then die while all the goody goodies were growing younger and more perfect. It had to do with the progression of your 'spirituality'.

  They used to speculate that every aborted baby would be resurrected and would need care, as well as resurrected children whose parents are not resurrected.

  And of course we would take whatever house we wanted or use supplies in stores etc that had not been demolished.

  Possible Jackson show at Vegas

  donald trump and some others have a vested interest in some casinos in vegas.

  trump has expressed some interest in having michael jackson perform at one of the casinos.

  he has back peddled some, but still, it gives an interesting idea.. i would imagine it would be quite a show.. the question i have for you is, would you go see it?

  i got a call from the er last night---hubby had been in an accident and they were running tests and x-rays.

  he was in terrible pain.

  they called back during the night during the night saying he has a shattered sternum and other injuries.

  adam was the progenitor of the whole human race, from his genes sprang the negroid, caucasian, mongoloid, indo-european and every other race on the planet.

  upsidedown you are absolutely hilarious! You know one of the reasons I'm so addicted to this website is the wonderful sense of humor all you people have! I am constantly laughing out loud at work in front of my computer and it puts me in such a great mood. I sincerely thank all you people for being such a bright spot in my day.

  I am a redhead with freckles and my first husband was a very dark black man with the typical tight curly hair. I have 2 absolutely gorgeous teenage children from him that most people cannot tell what race they are, and I'm not kidding. My 18 year old daughter has soft brown hair with some curl in in and very light skin, and kids at school have tried to argue with her that no way is her father black. My 15 year old son has very straight soft brown hair with a nice tan colored skin, he looks maybe Hawaiian.

  My point is maybe Adam and Eve were 2 different races? That way their children and grandchildren would keep changing or lean toward one parent.

  I am sitting at work bored off my keester, but awfully glad I discovered this website last week. Also I am enjoying my high-rise view of Sacramento downtown, sky clouding up, lots of green trees, and far away construction noise, wishing I was at home doing chores. I'm thinking of cutting back my hours, this job is so damn boring, I do maybe 1 hour of actual work in a 40 hour work week. I love my state job, getting paid to do nothing--I'm being sarcastic, I would rather keep busy. Anyway, to keep my brain from turning to mush I spend every day on this wonderful website with all you awesome apostates. :-) I love you people!

  Calling All Ex Witnesses

  i met someone online who has apparently turned out to be a good associate of mine.

  however, she has informed me that though she has her own beliefs and hates religion itself, she does like to get different perspectives on what people believe.

  I have a few tidbits to add.

  Make sure you explain to her that it is often not until after baptism that you find out all the many many rules you are expected to live under or face 'marking' or shunning. When you are studying, they love to talk about a lot of things being a 'conscience' matter--but how conveniently that changes after baptism, suddenly your privileges within the congregation can be taken away over so-called 'conscience' matters.

  Many repentant individuals are still disfellowshipped.

  You are never ever to question any beliefs or do your own research as that is labeled 'apostacy'.

  Any interests, hobbies, vacation time, people you spend time with, preaching time, basically everything and anything in your life that you enjoy will now come under a magnifying glass of scrutiny and everything is related to Satan and the 'world'.

  All humans outside the JW's are evil people about to be destroyed.

  Tons of information on the internet about all the lies, deception and false prophecies of the WBTS, but oh yeah you are not allowed to read that.

  I could go on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, and on, etc, etc, etc, etc.

  i was dating someone for 18 months before i broke it off--he didn't want a committment and he would not even say that someday we might end up together as a couple.

  it's been 2 years since we broke up and we both married other people.. i was deeply in love with this person, even with every last ounce of my soul.

  Dins--wish you much luck, it is so hard to break it off with someone you love.

  Beebee--thanks so much! I know he loved me, I guess I just needed validation. He was definitely a committment-phobic person but I don't know why he married the next lady in line. We email each other a few times a year just to say merry christmas or whatever. He emailed me 2 weeks ago and was asking if he could call me. I just today wrote him back and said no. I know he cheated on his first wife, and I don't trust him to try to get me to cheat with him. I could never hurt my spouse that way or run around lying because I would hate myself. For some reason I can't let him go, so I end up emailing him every few months. Then I'm mad at myself for keeping any kind of friendship going. I know eventually we will lose contact with each other, but I guess I'm not ready for that yet. And I need to allow myself the ability to grieve as long as I feel like I need to.

  I was deeply in love with this person, even with every last ounce of my soul. (It was complicated and we both had kids.) I married on the rebound from him but it's working out ok for me and my kids.

  But sometimes I still feel a stabbing pain in my heart when I think of him. I have never felt so devastated by a break-up before (I have been divorced twice.)

  Am I crazy to still feel so hurt by it? He said he promised himself he would never remarry, and remarried someone a year after our break-up. I realize I just was not the one for him, but why do I still feel so hurt and bad after 2 years? He acted like he was so in love with me but did not try to get me back when I walked away. I guess I'm just dumb, I'm assuming that he just wanted sex without committment. But we did a lot of things together--church every Sunday, grocery shopping, sports, earth-shattering sex. I thought he was just absolutely wonderful and he treated me like a queen.

  What's wrong with me? (this has nothing to do with JW's, or maybe it is related to being abandoned?)
