Child Predator Caught by my Son

friday night my oldest son spent the night at one of his friends house.

his friend and wife went to bed and james, my son, stayed up and played video games with their two children, son 11, daughter 9. the son and james went to bed.

the little girl continued to play and fell asleep on the sofa.. james got up a little after midnight to get a drink of water.

And, the couple(intruder and his wife) teaches childrens bible classes at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in our town.

I read Jeffrey Archer's book about his time in prison. He interviewed a lot of different types of inmates, including a convicted murderer. This man was in jail for a revenge killing of a someone who molested him as a child.

He brought out an interesting point. Child predators go where they can get easy access to their victims. So, they jobs in child care, foster parenting, teaching, Sunday School, and Bible classes, and the like. Very creepy! Makes it so you don't want to trust your child with anyone!

Too bad the cops got there so quickly. The guy could have "accidentally" impaled himself by falling on a rusty garden rake about fifty times and then "accidentally" hung himself from his own tree in the front yard...

How will field service be organised under the new book study arrangement?

does anyone know how field service will be organised now that book studies in private homes have ended?.

will there be field service groups?

will there be elders assigned to each group?

They have created "Field Service Groups" along the lines of the old Book Study Group arrangement. They still have the one Saturday a month where everyone meets at the hall. Sunday service is still the same.

Anybody ever read or see the movie "The Terminal Man?"

The main character suffers from incredibly violent blackouts, caused by a type of brain seizure.

In order to prevent these from happening, surgeons install a device to trigger the pleasure center in his brain at the onset of the siezure, in order to counteract it.

Unfortunately, the brain enjoys the stimulus so much, it starts triggering the seizures just to get the stimulus. The cycles keep increasing in regularity until the man goes permanently homicidal!

To quote Emo Phillips: "I used to believe that the Brain was the most fascinating organ of the human body. Then I realized what was telling me this!"

Oh, sure, it isn't a pop-culture event, it's a religious one. Sure. That's what they said about The Da Vinci Code. Let's put this in perspective: The return of Jesus Christ has been promised more than 20times longer than a Cubs World Series win. Currently, the "New" Testament is even more of a misnomer than "New" Coke, but a third testament is so overdue at this point, Jesus of Nazareth has to be the only superstar who makes Axl Rose look as prolific as Lil Wayne. Still, His fans are an incredibly patient lot; while Lost devotees bitch about the five-month wait between seasons, JC's followers have been reading the same old parables since before paper was invented. To add insult to injury, the Bible promises no less than five times (Matthew 16:28 and 24:34, Mark 9:1, and Luke 9:27 and 21:32, you pedants) that the Big Guy would be coming back during the lifetime of the people hearing Him speak. Still, it's probably for the best; if He ever does return, the faithful won't be able to hear Him speak over the shouts of "OVERRATED!"

then it was on fox news......i was thinking, why would this make national news.. anyway, hope she recovers ok and they find out who did this to her.. .

"Death to Spies"

Thanks for clearing THAT up!

"Smert Spionam (SMERSH)" was the "red herring" catalyst for the events in the first Timothy Dalton Bond film "The Living Daylights". What bothered me about this was the total lack of acknowledgement of the series continuity. SMERSH was already known in the Bond film universe alllllll the way back to "Dr. No" and especially "From Russia With Love." Yet in this movie, Bond, M, and all of MI-6 act like this is the first time they ever heard of it. You could argue that this was a reboot of the series with a new Bond, but then in the next movie, Felix Leiter mentions to his wife that Bond had been married "a long time ago" (yeah, like 20 years ago, in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." ( And, wow! That movie is almost 40 years old now!) So, obviously, this Bond was still supposed to be part of the overall continuity. I guess the only way they can solve problems of extended storylines with different actors is to turn James Bond into a Time Lord from Gallifrey who regenerates every so often.

Now that I've gone completely off topic, I am really enjoying the latest reboot of the Bond franchise. Daniel Craig looks the part of an SAS thug being forcibly refined into a suave, debonair killing machine. "Casino Royale" was at least half grounded in the real world (no giant facilities inside dormant volcanoes, no giant floating laser beams from outer space, and NO NO NO invisible cars!) I can't wait for "Quantum of Solace!"
