  When did you start getting ANGRY?

  when i started the fade....i recognize that i was upset, mainly because of the desillusionment.

  but, over the course of the past several months, i am noticing an increasing anger toward all thing org.

  it can only be described as indignation, not simply upset.

  i'm in a little urgency to know this, so please, if you can help:.

  as far as i understand, this is the sequence of events:.

  a) june 14th 2012 - on a trial by jury, cancace conti wins a civil law case involving child sexual abuse.

  i watched an episode of "lie to me" on netflix that piqued my curiosity.. .

  in the episode truth or consequences, a cult leader is investigated by the irs to determine if his cult has tax exemption or not.. one of the criteria that has to be met in order to be a legitimate 'church' or 'religion' in the eyes of the irs is that the members have to display "genuine belief'.. here is the portion of the script that speaks of this:.

  Exempt Purposes - Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3)

  The exempt purposes set forth in section 501(c)(3) are charitable, religious, educational, scientific, literary, testing for public safety, fostering national or international amateur sports competition, and preventing cruelty to children or animals. The term charitable is used in its generally accepted legal sense and includes relief of the poor, the distressed, or the underprivileged; advancement of religion; advancement of education or science; erecting or maintaining public buildings, monuments, or works; lessening the burdens of government; lessening neighborhood tensions; eliminating prejudice and discrimination; defending human and civil rights secured by law; and combating community deterioration and juvenile delinquency.

  Nowhere in this did I see anything about being prevented from talking about the Second Coming of Christ or other paranoid fantasies.
  I would say that the Society has a real problem in the category "eliminating prejudice and discrimination" with terms like "worldly" and "apostate" in their talks and literature, and their idea of "relief to the poor, distressed and underpriveleged" is basically a Bible study and a "go in peace, be warm and well fed". I am sure that the Society has a team of tax lawyers on hand making sure they stay within what is legally (if not morally) acceptable.

  Does money buy happiness and a longer life? You decide...

  i poured over time magazine's sep 8-15 2014 edition article "who we are" and put together this spreadsheet on the results from their poll.

  i found the statistics quite fascinating.. most people would say that "money doesn't buy happiness", but this poll seems to me to indicate the exact opposite of that.

  it also correlates education levels with higher earning that result in that happiness.

  I found it interesting that when it came to sex (my favorite subject!) That the highest income had less sex by age sixteen, but more drug use. Whereas, at the lower end, it was more sex, but about the same drug use. Unusual ramifications...

  Worker falls from KH roof during quick build

  i heard through the grapevine that one of the slave laborers was walking backwards on the roof of the falls city, nebraska quick build this weekend and fell of the roof.

  i heard he landed on his back and head and sustained some pretty serious injuries.. anyone in that area that might provide more information?

  My brother in law had a near thing happen to him at a project. He's one of those "ready and willing" types, so of course, he gets overly taken advantage of.

  Back in the days of food service at the assemblies, I saw young kids trying to show how macho they were by lifting very heavy bundles of canned sodas. Good luck getting the "Friends" to pay for that hernia, junior....

  TV.JW.Org - Streamed to KHs via the New Projectors

  i read here recently that the khs are being instructed to buy and install projector systems.. now that we've seen the launch of of tv.jw.org we can fully expect public talks to - on a monthly basis at least - be replaced by content streamed from the site to the screens in khs.. .
