  Good anti-witnessing last night.

  my wife had a few women over last night for a get together, and she told me that one of them has a sister that is getting "rv's" (return viisits) from a j.w.

  so this lady told me that her sister talked to the j.w.

  for two hours, the last time she came to her house.

  How can I find out?

  my jw family member and i meet for lunch once in a while.

  (i've never been a jw) how can i find out if he's been baptized....without actually coming out and asking him??

  any ideas?.

  Why don't you just come out and ask?

  Well, because then he'll suggest that I should start studying with his guru too, and I don't want to get into that.

  Say you heard he was getting baptized and would like to send a card, but aren't sure.

  Good idea, but NO ONE in our family are JWS (only him)....so he'd know I hadn't heard it from anyone.

  just wondering....... are there certain teachings / beliefs they don't tell a person who is studying....until after they're baptized?.

  I think one important thing they don't tell you is that as soon as you are baptized you can't ask questions any more. Your inquiring mind must shut down. You have to accept without question anything they teach including all the changes and switching back and forth.

  Wow! So.....if/when my family member gets baptized, and I happen to have a "thought provoking" question re the WTS for him.....he can't run to his guru for the answer?

  Now with the change in the announcement eliminating the mention of DA or DF, it is hard to know.

  So, did they change the announcement because there were starting to be so many DA's?
