  Baptism question.....

  when a person gets close to being baptized, i understand he/she must go before the elders to answer some questions?

  what exactly do the elders ask the person??.

  dear ex-witnesses: was there ever a time, when you were out in service, that someone at the door said something that got you thinking about the wts?........anything that created some doubt about the org.

  in the your mind?

  thanks so much to all who answered my previous post regarding our son who is being sucked into this thing.

  he has not been baptized yet, but is working toward that "illustrious goal".

  It happened.....

  our son, who is married to a witness, has just announced that he can no longer take part in holiday celebrations of any kind.

  he is slowly being sucked into this org., and we are heart sick about it.

  from what we understand, he has to purge his life of all these "horrible" things (like birthday celebrations, etc.

  hello and a very merry christmas to all your ex-witnessess out there!

  have a wonderful time with your families!.

  the best gift in the would would be if our son showed up with his witness wife (whom we love) at christmas.....and announced she's no longer part of the cult.

  Doesn't make sense.....

  we have a relative (by marriage) who is a jw.

  even though she knows we oppose the organization she belongs to, she still wants to get together and do stuff with us (i thought jws were encouraged not to socialize with opposers).

  she's a very sweet person and my husband & i have a good relationship with her.

  i was talking with my jw relative, and the topic of cell phones briefly came up.

  i got the impression she thought they were "evil" or something.

  are jws taught that cell phones, pagers, etc.
