Anyone heard this new talk?

i got an email today that says:hi randy, i'm from wi and i have a question that deals with the talk act wisely in a senseless world given by cos. another former brother told me that he had heard this talk given in janesville, wi.

he took notes and knows that what he had heard was not imagined.

the talk dealt w/worldly people being conned by satan and therefore "willing victims" if they were raped, etc.

I never served as a CO, but was at one point on the wts bethel speaking list.

We had great liberty with our 'service talks', however we were supposed to stick to our outlines for the sunday talks. this sometimes led to occassional confusion and our being counseled as a group. once they told us to develop more meaningful service talks, after one guys gave a talk about ancient coins during the time of christ.

i remember one guy went totally off about how demonized space movies were. this led to the elders sending letters to the wts for clarification after the entire congregation went crazy with questions about new light, etc.

anyway the point that i learned was that speakers sometimes get clear instructions, but if they are far enough up the food chain, they may get away with taking more and more liberties.

although, i have not been victim to the same level of damage from the wts as many of you on this site, i have noticed that it is very difficult to fight such a large entity with deep pockets and passionate (though misled) supporters.. .

since i am still in the very early stages of leaving/fading, i wonder:.

i have already spent the vast majority of my life sacrificially serving the interests of this org.

since i am still in the very early stages of leaving/fading, i wonder:.

i have already spent the vast majority of my life sacrificially serving the interests of this org.

Sounds like you would like to sue the WT org to recover financial losses, sue for "mental anguish" and maybe seek punitive damages as well. How about a class-action suit?

Actually, I wasn't thinking of anything so drastic, since like i said: I have not been victimized as have many others.

However, I do understand that by 'turning the tables', I might find closure. Still, I am afraid of getting sucked into a new life of anti-wts, which could still rob me of the life that i am learning that i deserve.

I do appreciate everybody's comments. I'm still thinking through this whole thing.

i just saw a few of my old jw buddies as i was driving home from the gym.

i started honking my horn manically and swerved towards them.. they all kinda jumped.

then i waved and gave em a big smile as i zoomed past.

While in the other car: Did you see that? He just tried to kill us? Let that be a lesson to you, when you leave jeh's org, the demons take over & you behave so worldly, just like that!
On my next service meeting part: Friends, don't let the devil discourage you! Just like the other day, a crazed apostate tried to run us over or at best disrupt our encouraging day in the ministry.
Giving an experience at the next circuit assembly: Yes brother XXX, jeh saved us from a satanic, drug-filled, demonized, immoral apostate, (who had just finished fornicating) while we shared in the most important work of our day, the field service. thankfully, our hope in the ressurection to a wonderful paradise earth allowed us to continue finding more sheeplike ones.

and to think, I am willing to leave all of that!

attempt to move on and enjoy the remaining years of my life, freely pursuing my own interests?
seek some form of justice, using (part or all) of my now emancipated mental & emotional resources by fighting this nebulous entity?

I can understand why some may choose either course, but am just wondering about some of your thoughts. Which will give you the most satisfaction? How much more damage will we (you and/or I) endure, if the chosen path is in vain?

Just thinking! (maybe too much!)

I think you left the WTS a bit too early.

You still display traits that they can use toward theocratic advantage.

I feel so angry!

not really much point to this except i want to vent some anger but yesterday my little brother came round to my house for lunch, he is studying and living at the house of my jw sister, i myself have never been baptized so am not disfellowshipped but they all (with the exception of my little brother) treat me as though i where.. anyway, my little brother came round for lunch and the next thing my jw mum phones my house, asks to speak to my brother and gives him a telling off for being at my house because i'm bad association, and tells him that he has to spend more time with the members of the congregation.. he tries to explain to her that the members of the congregation don't want to know him, that he is sick of making an effort to be friendly with them when they just ignore him.. anyway, it finished with her telling him he is to go straight back to my sisters house and not see me again.. he is 24 years of age, surely its up to him if he wants to come to my house!.

sorry, i know there is no point to this, but i just wanted to let off some steam!

Sorry that you have to go through this, but am happy that you do have someone to share your feelings with.

How different is the love jws preach from the love they display.

What's amazing is the fact that in spite of all this, regardless of whether your mother and sister leave the WTS, you and so many of their percieved enemies would gladly welcome them with open arms and hearts.

Just remember that even though painful, this will at some point pass.

"Theocratic Warfare" - An Apostate Strategy?

who here had ever heard of this so-called 'doctrine' of "theocratic warfare" when you were a jehovah's witness?

who has not heard of the so-called doctrine now that you are an apostate?

so why have witnesses never heard of 'doctrine', yet apostates seem to promote it as the last word on witness standards of honesty, integrity and decency?

The answer is simple: apostates made the whole thing up!

Sorry, but the truth of the matter is that at the JW HQ in the US, the term is used quite freely, especially in the upper circles. Even recently, it is understood to refer to tactics in the 'spiritual fight' against modern enemies, not just during the Nazi crime period.

why have Witnesses never heard of 'doctrine'

This is not uncommon, that the average rank & file witness is not acquainted with the phrase (although I do question this fact among anyone with tenure). There quite a few tactics, phrases & nomenclature to which many witnesses are not exposed, unless they happen to rise up through the ranks of WT responsibility.

The average witness has only limited familiarity with what is printed in WT publications, since very few are able to read most of these. I remember so many being surprised at the findings of a bethel tour. Then even more are surprised at what they learn while a temporary worker. Yet even more are shocked once they become regular bethel family members. The list of surprises continues as ones' responsibility and exposure expands.

Just my two cents from REAL WTS EXPERIENCE!
