Precident for elders to have two sets of rules. One for us and one for them

i was thinking about this for some reason this morning.

it seems that elders or elders' family are able to get away with quite a bit, while those who aren't are hung.

so how is that any different then things in the ot?.

today, i was talking to a close family member....he owns many stores of a business...he was telling me about a huge deal going down for him, in his favor.

he is an elder.

a lot of brothers work for him.

i will send them to someone if they can make good use of the books.

perhaps scanning them and putting them online.

I understand, but keep in mind that you cannot play fairly against theocratic warfare tactics.

If they feel threatened in any way, they will strike back fast and hard.

At the end, it is almost impossible (for an individual) to beat a $$$$$ corporation of any kind.

I do believe in the power of prayer;

The middle eastern terrorists had their prayers answered and we saw the results: Almost perfect execution of a destructive attack against the US trade towers.

Then, (hang on to your hats now!) the US have their prayers answered, as we kicked some 'sand nigg*$@ a$$' and stuff a democratic election down their throats.

If that ain't powerful proof then WHAT IS?

I am scared of my future marriage

i am watching oprah (right now actually) and the topic hits close to home.

good timing actually, because yesterday i was thinking of talking with my fiance, mike about this very thing.

you see, mike really loves kids, and we plan to have them eventually, its a very important part in our relationship (to him, mostly).

Advice #2: Talk to your future husband. How he handles this will be a good indication of your future relationship.

How Do You Discern If Someone Is Telling The Truth or Lying?

what signs do you look for in determining whether someone is really telling the truth, outright lying or possibly using "theocratic strategy"??

Following are my steps for discerning liars:

Open my door to them when they show up uninvited to tell me that they only want to give me something to read.
Invite them in for regular discussions, as they convice me that they are not trying to convert me.
Attend their weekly meetings, where there are no obligations, financial or otherwise.
Join them at a large public gathering to see their promised spiritual paradise in action.
Get baptized to symbolize my complete dedication to their organization.
Do more than I ever have, accept less than I ever thought I would and still not measure up to their standard of righteousness.
Volunteer at incredibly self-sacrificing levels and thus be allowed to get on the inside.
Become totally disilllusioned by learning the truth of their truth.
Eventually give up on the whole thing and just fade away.

While this method is somewhat effective, it does take about 20 to 30 years to complete the steps.
