Actually, I glad that you started this thread. I am in the market for a new bathing suit.
My other one has a whole in the knee!
i remember many years ago, men here in quebec all wore tiny speedo bathing suits.
our summers are so short, and it seemed normal to want a small bathing suit so as to tan the most possible.
when i went to beaches in the us, i noticed that most americans didn't wear such tiny bathing suits.

it is summer time.
the kids are out of school next week.
my wife is a newly dunked dub, who goes out in service on thursdays.
Speaking from my own experience, I suggest that you carefully weigh your options:
My dad initially started studying, but eventually opposed. This had a very strong and opposite effect on us as young kids.
The more he tried to stop us, the more it emboldened us to be even more faithful little witness buggers.
And don't you know, the folks at the hall used my father's opposition as proof that we were REALLY pleasing jeh.
So, be careful that your plan does not backfire with unwanted results.
Best wishes!
Just my two cents!
.
so we have about 5 weeks left.
ja i couldn't believe it.
See Ya Later!
I'm going out in Field Service ... Just in case.
I don't want an empty time report during the month of the Big A.
When JC checks my placements, I wanna make a good impression!
I think I look pretty good for a pope!
did anyone grow up listening to the bible dramas or bible story book on cassette?.
did anyone else find jehovah and his pronouncements very scary?
it's like letting your kid watch an r rated violent movie right before bed.
Tapes! Why in my day we had to let our imaginations scare the crap outta us.
Thank goodness we had those Paradise Lost pictures of the earth swallowing up cars, women & babies to keep us in line, with lightning bolts from heaven crushing buildings & churches.
Not to mention, the wonderful illustrations of dragons and mythical beasts in the Revelation & Daniel books.
No wonder I was a faithful lil' witness!
witnesses are a special breed.
did you ever see how excited they get when they are driving to a convention and spot a fellow jw?
they get so excited!
Max is not gb.
.
i don't know if its just me or if anyone else feels the same but it really annoys me when jehovahs witnesses use their terminology when speaking to a non jw.. for example, a jw woman is talking to a collegue who has never had a bible study and knows nothing about jws.. instead of saying "i have a friend coming for tea tonight" the woman says " one of the sisters is coming for tea tonight".. or, instead of "i was talking to a friend on the phone last night" she says "i was talking to an elder on the phone last night".. it just really winds me up, i think they do it to seem important and mysterious but it only leaves the other person confused.

I would tend to agree with you except for the fact that I am having the damndest time getting rid of the terminology myself.
It's so ingrained in me that I still refer to people as 'brother', or 'worldly' or speak of my old 'congregation'. if it drives me bonkers, I can only imagine what it does to others.
I worry that my language reflects the amount of remaining doctrines.
well, the guy hasn't contributed to awake for some years, but from what i understand, he died recently, and his wife too!
he had been in charge of awake!
magazines for decades!
Do you know exactly when?
well i am no longer one of jehovah's witnesses.
i had fully intentioned to disassociate myself from the platform today, but i decided that if i wanted a chance to save my marriage that i'd better tell my wife.
she immediately went to to one of the elders.
Matt:
I'm in similar circumstances and actually envy your new position. You are so much further along with your life. I'm still in this stuck mode, living a double life.
You tried to do the honourable and diginified thing, by including your wife, but she had choices to make also. I fear/know that mine will react the same way.
Best wishes!
do you think that someone's socio economic status determines how they get treated (behaved to) by the jws?
.
can someone high up the ladder get away with more things especially if he made big donations to the society and do they look down upon those lower down?
I sent this PM because I am still anonymous & the details might give me away.
True Story:
A very wealthy Jewish (non-jw) visited jw-hq one day, with his family.
I was called to the office of someone high up on the bethel food chain.
My assignment was to tour & 'take care of' this group, since he appreciated the work of the jws & had contributed a considerable amount to toward the work.
I had assumed that at least one was a witness, but no such luck. It was MHO that he just wanted to show the fam where their inheritance his contribution went.
