And I am tired of the games. This happened to a friend of mine actually. She was open about her relationship with her "worldly" boyfriend. They marked her of course and took all her privileges but she continued to go to meetings. Finally in an effort to catch her in something they rode by her house constantly and basically stalked her. When they saw his car in her parking lot, they "invited" her to a committee meeting, saying, "We saw his car in your driveway when we rode by your house. So there were some witnesses to the fact that his car was in your parking lot, and therefore he was at your house late at night." How sick is that? I am tired of that.

JWs betraying you to the elders.
by greendawn ini was once betrayed by an unknown person to the elders for buying soft porn magazines in a shop.
i never managed to figure out who it was since there were many people in the shop (news agency) at the time and i never noticed a jw from the local congo or one from other congos in the area that i knew.
to this day it's a mystery to me who saw me there and went to tell the elders.

Just remember, chia, that according to WTS doctrine, if you stay over night together, unchaperoned, it is the same is if you DID IT and you can be DF'd.
Believe me...I've been raised as a Dub. I know the rules. I don't care. I'm not talking to anyone about anything. I've been to a JC. The elders have verbally humiliated me. I owe them nothing. I don't need to tell them anything. If they want to fill in the blanks, fine. I'm not concerned about it. It's not anyone's business what I've done with my boyfriend, where I've gone, or who I've been with. What I meant by "I don't plan on doing anything" was that I'm not going to meet with the elders or voluntarily disassociate myself. It has nothing to do with my relationship with my boyfriend. That line has already been crossed.

I don't plan on doing anything. Yes, I already have friends outside the org, a boyfriend, I'm going to college and all the other good stuff. But I do not intend to DA myself. If the elders see fit to find something to try me on, good for them. I'm not meeting with any committees or anything. My contact with my Witness family is pretty limited already, so, so be it.
I think I'm using my time pretty wisely, but that's all relative. I'm happy with the way things are right now, and as for the tough times ahead, I'm not going to stress out about that until it happens.

It's hard to pick just one. I'm going to go with "Feels Like Heaven" by Peter Cetera and Chaka Khan.

Ray Franz Wife
by TheListener ini can't thank ray franz enough for what he wrote and how he has affected people for the better.
while reading his books and seeing threads about him i have always wondered how his wife reacted when he started telling her about his doubts and trouble with the society.
how did she react when she had to leave bethel with him?

I second that, and I also want to thank the person who gave me the books. Up until recently, I didn't even know they existed.

Thanks for that. I figure, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I'm definitely staying away from any organized religion. It could've been much worse. Right now, I feel if God exists, he definitely isn't too concerned with me. So I don't feel any strong spiritual urges right now. And that's OK.

So I'm at the meeting tonight.............
by JV ini'm looking through the new awake magazine (great article on shoplifiting by the way) and this older sister comes and sits beside me.
she started talking to me about this great little piece in the magazine about fish or something that should be on my dinner plate, something that i don't really care about, then she turns to me and said and i quote " where else but jehovah's organization can we learn such things?
i sat there with a dumbfounded look on my face thinking " are you kidding me?

In my congregation, it's not accepted to go to college, but 4 year colleges are frowned upon. It's basically, "Get the least amount of education needed and put the least amount of money into it so that you can spend the most time and resources in the preaching work." So a lot of people go to community colleges.

by JH inwhat do you think is the best way to fade away from the jw org, without being df'd and without being bothered by them?.
just stop going and not answer their calls?.
change congregation, and never show up?.

I've decided to move away. As far as my family goes, they're "masochist Dubs" as the Listener puts it, so I have decided to keep contact with them limited. They will not have my phone number or address. They do have my e-mail address, and I'll leave it at that.

Dubs telling people who they should and should not marry.
by LongHairGal ini know of several experiences of couples who got married against the unwanted advice of the busybodies at the hall.
and i am not talking about a sixteen year old girl marrying a seventeen year old boy either!
these were people way over 30. .

I knew someone who was getting married. It was a happy time. Everyone was very happy. Shortly before the wedding, something came out about the husband. It wasn't defined what he had done, but it was sufficient enough so that they could not get married in the Kingdom Hall. It disturbed me. Just because he made a mistake, she's screwed. All those plans they made, and now they have to scramble and find another place to have the wedding and shell out more money undoubtedly. And, how was I able to find out that it was him that screwed up? An elder told us. Don't you think it's embarrassing enough to have everyone know you aren't getting married at the KH, and on top of it, an elder you trust is spreading your gossip?
