I thought the picture of the sacrifice in the Mankind Search For God where the guy gets his heart cut out of his chest was pretty sick looking

Did You Ever Think The "End" Was Going To Happen In Your Lifetime"?
by minimus inalthough i was considered an exemplary jw, i never really could see it happening.
still don't.

Do you honestly think I, or many others for that matter, would have became a JW if I didn't think it would come in my lifetime? I was a teen when I was dunked into the organization.

#2 Talks
by dothemath inbrothers assigned #2 talks have no work to do at all as far as i can see.
if you're even a moderately good reader, you could look over it for about 2 minutes ahead of time.. when someone doesn't show up for the reading, and another brother fills in "short notice", there really isn't any noticeable change in the talk, or how it's read.
in other words, just about anyone could do it.. and then the counselor has to come up with terms about how well the brother read it.........etc., etc., etc.. the commendation is pretty much identical every week for this part.. the sisters have to do extensive research on their parts, but the younger brothers who don't do the #4 assignments have got it very easy..........for most, it's about a 5 min.

I would hate to be in the ministry school now if the attendence has gone down a whole lot; it seems that every time I would turn around I would have a talk to give, usually a #2 talk but now I bet it seems that the brothers in the smaller congs would have one every other week, lol.

Help with rent- you will only get help if you are in a shelter for abused women. unless there is some kind of disability.
I dont know where you live but when my nephews were little my sister had almost all of her rent paid and she didn't have a disability and now my mother has a 2 bedroom house that she rents out to a single mother who isn't disabled and she gets more than half of it paid by some program. However I am not disagreeing with you with that single mothers have it hard. I sympathize with a lot of them, especially when men don't pay their child support and it is not enforced by the courts.

If it is such a male dominated work environment, why have I always had a female boss or supervisor and never a male one and I have had various jobs for 21 years now.

They sell themselves short. They agree to work for less. They refuse to hold out for better and best. They settle; for weak men, inferior economic status and the burden of motherhood without an equal concession from the men. And, even when men do AGREE; they don't keep their end of the bargain.
That isn't always the case I have seen; especially with married women. Married women can hold out for a bigger salary and benefits since they have a husband from which they can get benefits or vice versa and single women can take advantage of alimony or child support and social programs, AFDC (welfare), rental assistance, etc. so they don't always have to work and they can negotiate better salaries than single men who have to either work or starve to death so they have to take whatever a company will give them when competition for employment is high.
