a few weeks ago, someone made a comment that the disfellowhipping policy had changed considerably throughout the society's history, with the early organization showing a much gentler attitude toward disfellowshipping.
it was stated the the society has even used the same scriptures to justify different attitudes toward disfellowshipping.
has anyone researched this?
I remember reading in one of the old bound volumes that I used to have from the 50's or 60's in which a questions from readers asked about blood transfusions and reference was made about a sister who received one and apparently back then in those days it was not a disfellowshipping offense. Im not at home so I cannot give the reference for it but over the years they have added to the list all different kinds of reasons you can be DF'd; going beyond what is written IMO.

as many of you know, the bible text at luke 21:8 has become a major issue for me.
i decided that it would be proper to do some more in depth research of the text, as well as the words contained in the text.
this is all going to be complied and put togeather in a letter that i am going to send to the society.

okay, i woke up this morning because i had really bad pain in my left leg ( i jumped out of bed) it was like a cramp but a hundred times worse, i could not even stretch my leg or touch it because it hurt like hell, this was at five am it is now 10 am and it still hurts, i can't even really walk (i'm at work, so i won't have to) this is the fourth time this has happened the pain stays for three to four days and then goes away, any ideas on what it could be and how to make the pain better?.

Could you be getting leg cramps due to low potassium? Eats more bananas. Since you like cereal, try slicing some up and putting them in your cereal. Or it could be something else.

hi everyone i was just wondering if those of you that have left the org for whatever reason, have found your'e much happier than when you were in it?probably a daft question but i tried to talk to a friend about how i was feeling about a few things and why i don't go to meetings and she said would i really be any happier out than in?it just got me thinking about why i joined in the first place, because i was lonely and down, although i still am several years later it seems!have you found life better on the outside?did you feel a sense of freedom or was it really hard to adjust?when i try to explain what i find hard in the religion they can always say something back that then makes me think i was wrong in the first place and it is the truth after all - aagh!
I am much happier now that Im no longer part of the borg. I remember the last time I was at a Sunday meeting and driving home vowing to never return because I had finally had enough. The following week was like a huge boulder lifted off my shoulders. No more running on the Watchtower hamster wheel with more meetings, preparing for meetings, field service and finding time to do all that plus working full time and then feeling like you never did enough because they always stressed to "reach out" and do more, do more, do more.
i am furious, i have a 1700 square foot house with all new appliances including a new air conditioning system by trane.

($400.00) this is beyond belief.
My apt is just over 600 sq feet which is big enough for just me and all my utilities, gas, water, electric, cable, wireless internet are included and I keep it as cool or as warm as I like, all for a whopping $665 a month. I thought about getting a bigger apartment at the same place but I really dont wanna move right now.
