I would hope that all the proceeds made from the publicity and book sales go to the victim's families to satisify the wrongful death judgement against the sick sonofabitch.

I would love to hear from anyone who grew up in the truth and is gay
by Ragnarökkr inhi.. after lurking for a number of months i have decided to join in and hopefully connect with a few people who will know what it has been like to grow up as me.
i left the truth a number of years ago for two reasons, one of which was my sexuality, which i knew to be unacceptable to my brothers and sisters.
since then i have alone in my isolation, hopefully through this site i can rectify that.

Welcome Ben:
I officially come into the organization around the mid 80s in my teens. I thought my homosexual feelings that I had at that time was just a phase and if I did everything I was suppose to things would fall into place. I grew up mostly living in the rural bible belt south so I keep my feelings pretty much to myself but later on as the years went on I couldnt stand the thought of living a life as a JW and gay. I had to be true to myself and begin finding out who I really am instead of wearing a JW mask and trying to be what people thought I should be or could be so I planned an exit strategy which took quite some time and eventually faded and moved away from where I used to live. I still somewhat believed it some of the JW teachings when I first quit going but it got to where I would rather die than live that kind of life for the rest of my life.
Im at work right now so I have to get going but give me a hollar sometime or send me a PM if you would like to chat.
PS: I wish you would have came onboard earlier, I was just in London this past September. We could have met for tea!

What was the reason why you were never made an elder or Ministerial Servant
by twinkletoes inthe reason i heard constantly by the elders, as to ones spiritual progress in the organisation was, .
"brothers are appointed by holy spirit.".
if this is the case, why is god speaking to himself when he says in 1 tim 3 v 6 .not a newly converted man, for fear that he might get puffed up with prideetc.. to re-iterate if god appoints elders, why would he give himself this advice ???.

I never wanted the extra responsibility; I thought going to meetings, FS, and being used enough by handling mics, reading, on the school, etc. was enough for me; a lot of the elders wanted me to reach out for it but I didnt want that much attention focused on me, lol. LRG

My JW roommate and the false religion tract
by oppgirl63 inmy roommate who is disabled was in the hospital for a couple of days last week (nothing too serious).
one of the 'sisters' from the hall brought her a few of the tracts to hand out while she was in the hospital (like to nurses and whoever).
she hasn't been to the meetings for a while because she hasn't been feeling well so this was the first time she had seen them.

Her family is not JW (she's the only one). She is disabled and I'm her caregiver (and I'm also a lesbian ). One elder suggested she move but she's said she's not going anywhere.
Dont mean to highjack the thread and get off topic concerning the tract, if you two were males the JW living with you would already have been disfellowshipped according to the policies set forth in the elder's manual; even the WTS views homosexuality between the sexes differently in this respect like most of society.

Hypothetical ? for u. What if armageddon really did come...
by *jeremiah* inok, here's a hypothetical that i'm curious about.. what if armageddon really did happen?
not necessarily according to jw terms or timetable, but at some point it happens in your lifetime.
would any of you return to the jws?.

I still believed some of the WTS teachings when I left; even though I had some doubts but at the same time I didn't care if a god destroyed me for not staying in that religion.
So if amageddon came, it would just have to come; I dont care anymore.
