"i think now, looking back, we did not fight the enemy, we fought ourselves, and the enemy was in us.
the war is over for me now, but it will always be there, the rest of my days.

this subject has been brought up before.
the governing body and watchtower have repeatedly encouraged jws to show loyalty to the organization to "keep the congregation clean" by reporting wrongdoing to the elders.. i know directly of two cases.
two jws working in the records department of our local hospital "outed" 3rd gens 1st husband to the local elders when he and his mistress sought medical treatment together for stds.
I was a medical transcriptionist when I was a JW and I have typed medical reports on JWs who received medical treatment and one time it was revealed in a dictation that an unmarried JW had multiple sex partners but I kept that information to myself when I was working in that capacity, however I know others may not have. I guess I was not a model witness at the time.
If you work in healthcare and you disclose confidential information you can be individually sued as well as prosecuted. That kind of violation has serious consequences and it may show up to future employers who would do a background check on you even if you no longer work in healthcare.
recently reflecting on some of the great songs that came out of that decade.

what a shame that the streets of san francisco has turned into a s hole.
i wonder why this is happening.

The place is run by "progressive" liberals.
click here for source of material, governing body letters.
i highlight only these words when studying my wt.. buzz words used in watchtower publications.
the next time that you read a book or magazine published by the watchtower bible and tract society, see how many of these buzz words and phrases you come across.this clearly shows .
"apparently"
additionally - if this shunning rule was removed and everyone was made aware of the dirty secrets of the org.. (e.g.
csa-arc / un membership / malawi - mexico contrast / etc.).
would those leaving be higher?.
I think the percentage would be low, maybe 10 percent if even that. A lot of people really don't care about those issues since it doesn't effect them personally. Many have too much invested in that organization and dont want to deal with the changes that leaving the organization involves. Many feel validated and have a since of belonging in that organization and they also have a social support group within it.
Unless they are severely and negatively impacted by something in the organization they aren't going anywhere.
You also wont get much comment from the left leaning liberals on this forum regarding this either.
i know a few family's who have left the cult but send their kids to a religious school because of the public schools teaching many times that homosexuality is ok. the bible is clear that its a sin.
there is no just love each other and its all ok. i don't believe in the bible or any religion.
i have a niece who came out as gay and i told her i don't care.
Teaching your kids that homosexuality is wrong may or will give them justification to judge, ostracize and make fun of gays and make kids who are gay believe that they are seriously flawed and it is their fault they are gay and that God, if god exists, hates them.
if you haven't seen it already, skip to 1:14:30 in lloyds video and watch the craziness unfold.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2y7f7-k5wo.
i'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on this.. they're digging themselves a great hole here, in about 30 years time they'll be claiming this video was a mere "speculation" and that "some people" got the wrong ideas..
Don't they still claim the trumpet blasts in Revelation refer to judgements proclaimed in convention talks in the 1920s in Cedar Point, Ohio?
