ok sometimes i feel it's good to maybe not redress the balance, but at least can you say something positive that you gained from your jw experience.

Met a great Bethelite at a district convention and we became friends and I use to try to go up to NY and see him when I could. We would write and talk on the phone. He really had an interest in me and we had great times together. I sometimes wonder what he is doing now.
And I have met some great people in the organization who I still love unconditionally no matter what. I wouldn't have the kind of job that I do now if it wasn't for a sister who mentored me; I admire her for so many reasons.

i used to love hearing this song at the conventions, everyone singing..
but dammit, now it's in my head, and i just realized that it sounds kinda like the imperial march from star wars.
and it sounds great when you hum it and desk-drum a beat to it..
They always played that during the baptisms at the circuit assemblies and usually the song "christian dedication" at the district convention. I was baptised at one of the district conventions; but there were some songs I liked when I was in the org.
One song I liked was God's Own Book, A Treasure, probably cuz it was so easy to play on the piano. I miss my piano. I still have it but it is at one of my parent's and I haven't gotten around to getting it. I miss pecking on it.

my teen received a letter from my mother telling her they(she and my sister) would no longer be associating with me (her mom) but that she could still come to visit the several states away!?!.
she blubbered on about how her conscience was bothering her everytime she had any interaction with me.
I knew of elders where I lived who still had 30-something year old kids living with them while they (the grown kids) were DF'd and nothing said about it but I had relatives decades ago DF'd for allowing the same thing so I guess they factor in different circumstances.

I remember when Different Seasons went to paperback, I was in the 10th grade and I remember reading that book when I should have been paying attention in class, lol. I use to always read Stephen King when I was in high school but could never afford them when they came in hardback. I had to wait until they came in paperback.
