oh, yeah, i was grilled for having what was considered a "low cut" blouse and it was nowhere as revealing as those duds. that would be instant loose conduct and marking for a non-celeb JW.

Did every congregation have one or two desperate singletons?
by diamondblue1974 in.
i remember in the kh i went to there was always at least one desperate singleton who would sniff around the single women particularly the ones which were his own age...he was mid 40s i seem to believe...never had a girlfriend and would have married anybody who wouldve had him.
there was no real harm in him...just lonely i expect but i think he made most women skwirm.. what about you...did your hall have its own resident 'single sister stalker'?

It always looked like "bride.com" at the KHs I visited. Beautiful women on the arm of underachieving, pompous dogs; present company on this board excluded, of course.
I agree w/ the 1000 sisters to one brother ratio! You'd have to be pretty bad off not to make the cut as a brother.
One does come to mind, though. 5' 5" tall, chubby, voice higher than a girls, albino looking, but he had a good job.
Most were not able to overlook those first 4 factors. . .
Many of the most attractive sisters either left da troof for REAL men, or they settled for a horse-faced JW janitor boy. And of course, lots of old maids living with their parents waiting on jehovah.

Dubs telling people who they should and should not marry.
by LongHairGal ini know of several experiences of couples who got married against the unwanted advice of the busybodies at the hall.
and i am not talking about a sixteen year old girl marrying a seventeen year old boy either!
these were people way over 30. .

Did anyone ever notice just how many 30-40 year escapees there are?
by AK - Jeff ini know a lot of young people leave the 'truth'.
but i would never have thought that so many of us with 20, 30, 40 years in would be leaving.
what do you think accounts for that?

I'm with Ken P.
Tired of the whole mess and knowing I led a very unhappy and unfulfilling life as a JW. My "never a JW boyfriend" can't understand why it took so long, but I guess if you haven't been raised a JW, knowing that that's the only way of life you have ever had, then I guess you can't fathom it.

KH Parking Spaces....
by Will Power inare they assigned?
are they in any way related to status?
if you usually park in the same space every meeting, then one day you arrive to find someone else there...... .

I remember the back rows of the KH being EXCLUSIVELY for those w/ young children and NOT latecomers. if you were "unlucky" (wow! a worldly expression) enough to come in a few minutes late; the punishment was to be paraded up front as a spectacle to all. usually the 1st two front rows of seats were empty, so that was "punishment row" for those who came in late.

i've been a fader since 02-03. completely stopped in mid 03. got called on by 2 elders a month ago w/ allegation that i was "living in sin." they wanted to know what my work schedule was (so that they could say "ah, there's no reason why you CAN'T attend meetings') then they wanted to know if i would MARRY my boyfriend!!!! when i said "8-5" for the first question and "no" for the 2nd, they wanted to set up a JC w/ me.
i immediately sent in my 2 sentence DA letter. they came back again the following saturday to confirm my choice ("what part of NO didn't you understand, dickweeds?") my boyfriend was out there with his kids on visitation and we were all doing work around the house at the time.
my boyfriend is 200+lbs of all muscle and strong as an ox. He was getting ready to give them a "talking to" but he figured he'd let me handle it. his oldest kid (8 yrs) asked "who were those guys? they look like FBI agents or something" (boy, he wan't far from the truth!!!) I explained to them that they were associates who had to check some paperwork.
boyfriend says that if they come around again, "it won't be good for them!" LOL

Do you exercise or do anything special to physically look your best?
by JH ini walk alot in the summer time, usually about 5 miles a day when it's nice.
i never eat too much, so i don't gain weight.
a few days ago, i bought 2 ten pound dumbells and elastic bands and hand grips at walmart... i exercise with that about an hour a day.

Absolutely,
After losing 60 lbs, I do Cathe Frederich's pyramid workouts, Tamilee Web workouts, tae bo and some pilates to keep it varied. I feel funny if I go more than 2-3 days and not work out. I climb the stairs up and down 22 floors in my bldg. during lunch hour generally speaking or take a very long fast walk if weather permits. I hate the elevators
I make sure my calorie count never goes over about 1700 a day. It's best between 1000 and 1500.
I also do "manual labour" on the weekends w/ boyfriend
