  did god lie to adam?

  the watchtower, and in fairness all other christian groups, claim that satan told the first lie when he told eve, "you positively will not die".

  but was it a lie?

  I will post my view on the scripture...

  1. Sin is death, Adam and Eve sinned against God by doing something against what he commanded, thus opening the doorway to sin in our world. If they did not go against God then there would be no sin, no death.

  Now we have our Savior Jesus Christ who saves us from this Sin-Death, before Christ God required of his people to make sacrifices to satisfy his judgment so they can be saved.

  2. This story in Genesis should not exactly be taken literally, the Garden is a symbol of paradise, Gods perfect creation before sin (death) entered the world "do not eat of this tree" symbolically shows that God made one law that he wanted Adam and Eve to obey... it may not be literally a Apple Tree.... The snake represents Satan and his temptation, Adam and Eve fall into temptation "their eyes were opened" - They discovered evil, Sin awakens...(death) "you will not die" Satan convinces them that Sin does not lead to death, which sin does lead to death as God said.

  Adam and Eve get the boot from the garden... Sin leads to a world of pain, so the paradise they once had was gone and now is in a world corrupted by sin, that’s another symbolic view. "Angel with sword"-A sinful being cannot enter paradise.

  Defd you must really be bored...

  I don't think much people are keen on making expencive overseas phone calls....

  Don't you have MSN, Yahoo or AIM instead? People might be more willing to talk to you then and it helps occupy your boredom

  Or maybe try registering on a whole lot of forums.... or think of something that interests you and research about it. Take up a hobby maybe, like guitar, take your guitar to work with you and play some songs... (thats what my dad does lol)

  What I think is important that if you join a religion or faith, you've got to be dedicated a bit more to it. Its no good joining a religion you have no idea, commitment or belief in.

  Anyone here know much about Cat Psychology ??

  my wife and i have a new cat - a 7 month old blue smoke persian named olly (pedigree name is pannonius olympian).

  olympian he is too - weighing in at 5kg already !!.

  he's extremely timid, and hides pretty much constantly, meowing (squeaking now cos i think he's made his throat sore, poor mite).

  I remember when I first got my cat, she was very shy and afraid, your pet just needs to get used to both you and its surroundings, for the first couple of months i'd keep the cat indoors so it won't run away or get lost...

  With my cat we just left food out for her, she'd only come out of hiding however when we are not in the room, I wouldn't force the kitten in anyway light picking it up of force patting it, just take it slowly, it won't be long before you have a nice fluffy pal

  Remember to also train the kitten to get used to the "food call" weather it be a bell you ring or banging the spoon on the can of cat food, that generally helps.

  You know what a counsellor told me once that you are never really bored, you are just not doing something you want to do... of cause I don't really believe that, but thats just a thought.

  Defd, did I say anything to offend you? My Dad is also a night shift worker, and at the same time had tasks during the day he had to do... It got a bit hard at times because he was a bit sleep deprived, I was just wondering if you relate? By your day time activities weather it be meetings or some other business, I did not mean that as any form of attack.

  Hun, The word bible is translated from the word Biblia, which means little books.

  So.... I don't see them fitting in the short-stories section.... but ok, you meant little not short

  Im not touching that one.

  Y not? it doesn't bite.... the NRSV (New revised standard version) is my favourite
